In September, 2005, according to the spirit of relevant documents on comprehensive education reform in Zhaoyang District, Zhaoyang No.2 Middle School and Zhaoyang No.5 Middle School were reorganized into new Zhaoyang No.2 Middle School. The school headquarters (formerly Zhaoyang No.2 Middle School) is located in the center of Zhaotong, adjacent to the "Bajiaoting", covering an area of 1 1 mu; North Campus (formerly No.5 Middle School in Zhaoyang District) is located at No.68 Longquan Road, Zhaoyang District, 3 kilometers away from the urban area, covering an area of 16.3 mu. There are towering pagodas, towering cypresses, colorful bonsai flowers and a pleasant environment. Faculty 199, including 25 senior teachers, 93 intermediate teachers and 54 junior teachers.
