What are the Three Lakes?

These three lakes are Qinghai Lake, Poyang Lake and Dongting Lake.

1, Qinghai Lake: Qinghai Lake, named Cuowumbu in Tibetan. Located in the northeast of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Qinghai Province, it is the largest inland lake in China. It is formed by the fault subsidence among Datong Mountain, Sun Moon Mountain and Nanshan Mountain in Qilian Mountain and Qinghai Province.

2. Poyang Lake: Poyang Lake, formerly known as Peng Li, Peng Lize and Peng Ze, is located in the northern part of Jiangxi Province, in Jiujiang, Nanchang and Shangrao.

3. Dongting Lake: Dongting Lake, formerly known as Yunmeng, Jiujiang and Chonghu, is located on the south bank of Jingjiang River in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, spanning Yueyang, Guluo, Xiangyin, Wangcheng, Yiyang, Yuanjiang, Hanshou, Changde, Jinshi, Anxiang and Nanxian counties and cities.
