Yesterday afternoon, Suzhou gusu district Education and Sports Bureau held a press conference to announce that the construction of Pinghe Road Primary School and its affiliated kindergartens will start in the second half of this year as a practical project in 20 13. The project is expected to be completed in 20 15 years, and about 2000 students can be absorbed by then. As the project is located in Lixin Primary School, now the school for children of migrant workers, the school will be relocated in the second half of this year.

According to Bian Jian, chief of the comprehensive department of primary education of gusu district Education and Sports Bureau, with the increasing population year by year, gusu district's educational resources have been relatively tight. Therefore, it is decided to build Pinghe Road Primary School and affiliated kindergarten at the intersection of Pinghe Road and Jiangtian Road in Pingjiang New City. The school covers an area of about 24,400 square meters, and it is planned to be set up according to 8 tracks, with a construction area of about 20,000 square meters. The kindergarten covers an area of about 9,200 square meters, and it is planned to be set up in 20 classes, with a construction area of about 8,000 square meters, with an estimated total investment of about 65.438+0.5 billion yuan. The project will start in the second half of this year and is expected to be completed in 20 15. After the completion of Pinghe Road Primary School, it can absorb more than 2,000 students.

However, it is not easy to build these primary schools. Wu, chief of the Primary Education Business Section of gusu district Education and Sports Bureau, told the reporter that according to the plan, the plot of Pinghe Road Primary School and its affiliated kindergarten was originally a public school, Sujin No.1 Primary School. In 2008, in order to solve the problem of migrant workers' children going to school inside and outside the region, the former Pingjiang District Education and Sports Bureau leased Sujin Primary School to the operator of Lixin Primary School and built a school for migrant workers' children. At present, there are more than 400 students 1200 in this school, including students from grade one to grade five1200. In Wu Shuo, since 2008, the relevant departments have signed a lease agreement with the operators of Lixin Primary School once a year, which will expire on 3 July this year. As the school is newly built in situ, after the lease agreement expires, gusu district Education and Sports Bureau will take back Sujin Primary School and terminate the agreement. At present, the notice of terminating the lease of school buildings has been issued to the operators of Lixin Primary School.

Regarding the learning situation of students in Lixin Primary School after the primary school was recovered, Wu said that the recovery of school assets is not a "one-stop". Lixin Primary School is a qualified school for children of migrant workers, and its school license is still valid. Therefore, the school can continue to run schools in different places after the relocation. If Lixin Primary School can find a suitable school place before the start of school in autumn after relocation, existing students can continue to study in the school. However, if the school can't find a suitable school building, or the school can't start smoothly for various reasons, the gusu district Municipal Education and Sports Bureau will launch an emergency plan to ensure that every child in the original Lixin Primary School has a book and a school.
