Is it foolish or wise to reduce salary and apply for a job?

I don't think the word "job hunting with reduced salary" should be labeled as stupid or wise, which is based on the objective environment and my own actual situation.

There are three possibilities for reducing salary and applying for a job. The first is that the economic environment is not good, which leads to the overall decline of social wage level and can only adapt to the overall environment to reduce salary and apply for a job.

The second possibility is that because of their own reasons, such as age or skills, they can't adapt to their current jobs, or they may leave their jobs voluntarily or be dismissed, so if they want to find a new job, they have to reduce their salary and apply for a job.

The third possibility is that I overestimate my ability and want to seek more salary and treatment in this position, but I am not satisfied. After naked resignation, I couldn't get a better salary, so I had to lower my salary and find a job that I could start as soon as possible.

Therefore, whether it is because of the decline of social wage level or because of one's own reasons, reducing salary for job hunting is a quick way to solve employment, and it doesn't matter whether it is wise or stupid.
