In ancient times, commanders mobilized before war either with loudspeakers, or with soldiers specializing in sound transmission, or even with props that created echoes.

Wars occurred frequently in ancient times, and generals all knew that the courage of a general's soldiers and the power of their soldiers were their power. Therefore, mobilization before war has become the easiest way to boost the morale of soldiers. Only by fully mobilizing the enthusiasm of soldiers can we win the war. One solution is to recruit people with particularly loud voices to stand in a row under the high platform when the commander-in-chief mobilizes. When the commander-in-chief said something, they shouted something in response. The voices of these dozens of people are, after all, much louder than one person. Or the soldiers can be arranged into small square formations, and the commander shouts, and they will relay the sound one by one, and the whole army will know it.

There were no loudspeakers in ancient times, but ancient people were not ignorant of adaptability. They have long discovered that horn-shaped things are conducive to sound transmission. Find an object, or simply make a trumpet-shaped instrument out of leather or wood. In the hands of the commander-in-chief, this thing is equivalent to the current loudspeaker. But in contrast, there are requirements for the commander's voice.

Also in ancient times, many drums were erected on all sides of the military camp. This big drum is not only a tool for early warning and boosting energy during wartime, but can also be used as an echo wall. The commander-in-chief was shouting from a high platform, and the sound was reflected back and forth on the surrounding drums, resulting in a very wide coverage of the sound. In this way, the soldiers below can clearly hear the commander's pre-war mobilization.
