Liaoyuan Airport is essentially a domestic civil aviation regional airport. According to the planning of domestic small airports, feeder routes are mainly opened.

The airport is a 4C-class airport, covering an area of about 2,800 mu. It is preliminarily determined that the runway is 2600 meters long and 45 meters wide, the terminal is 4000 square meters, and the passenger parking area is 2 100 square meters. Upon completion, the passenger throughput is expected to be 220,000 passengers.
