Brief introduction of Shanghai animation film studio

Shanghai Animation Film Studio is the largest art film studio in China and one of the oldest animation studios in China. Its base (animation, puppet, paper-cutting and origami) is located in Shanghai. Covering an area of 106 1 1 m2, it has animation, paper-cutting, administrative workshop and puppet studio, and is the main base for making art films in China. Art Film Group, formerly known as Cartoon Department of Northeast Film Studio, was founded in 1949, and moved to Shanghai the following year, under the Shanghai Film Studio. The factory was formally established in April of 1957, and consists of three production departments: animation, puppet and paper-cutting. There are two subordinate enterprises: Shanghai Yilimei Animation Co., Ltd., a Sino-foreign joint venture, and Shanghai Animation Film Studio, a collective owner. The production capacity is 14 ~ 15 units/year. The animation "Proud General" and the puppet film "Magic Pen" created by the Art Film Group have gained experience in exploring national styles. After the establishment of the factory, 428 art films have been produced, accounting for more than 80% of the national art film output. Gradually formed the style of China's art films. It has strong strength in the creation and production of film and television cartoons and the research and development of derivative products.
