Employment situation of metal material engineering major in Guangdong University of Technology

Compared with other universities in China, this major has obvious characteristics. The major of metal materials in other universities is either casting in iron and steel smelting, or metal plastic processing and die, metal heat treatment, welding or nondestructive testing. According to Guangdong's industrial demand, this major has developed a complete curriculum system from product design, metallurgical casting of metal materials, plastic processing and mold, heat treatment, welding and nondestructive testing, and can modify the training plan according to the industrial development, such as adding a topic module of metal processing automation.

Combined with the development characteristics of Guangdong's industrial structure and industrial upgrading, this major aims to cultivate senior professionals with knowledge of material science and metal material engineering, research and development ability and management skills of new materials, new processes and new technologies, and be able to engage in material composition design and process development and procurement, product and mold design, product production, processing and management, product quality inspection and sales, and sales in related industries. Can be engaged in the inspection and testing of goods and equipment in customs, quality and technical supervision bureau and other government departments, can be engaged in teaching in vocational education schools, and can be engaged in the study and research and development of new materials, new processes and new technologies in scientific research institutes at home and abroad.
