Why is Benxi County called a small city?

According to personal library records, the origin of the name of Benxi County is a small town: the small town is located in the east of Benxi City, and 1960 became the county seat of Benxi. As early as 300 years ago, the city was called Little Chef Hippo, which was named after shrubs and elms everywhere. There were only seven families at that time. Later, a Yongning Temple was built. As a result, the small temple was changed into a small temple. During Guangxu period, the number of people reclaiming land gradually increased, and the number of businesses soared. The industries of grinding incense and smelting iron rose accordingly, and the small market formed a trade market for people to exchange products, which was called small market by local people and has been used ever since.

Benxi County refers to Benxi Manchu Autonomous County, which belongs to the southeast extension of Changbai Mountain range. The terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest.
