Is Huayang in ancient times the same place as Huayang in Chengdu now?

If you want to talk about Huayang, you have to talk about Huayang County Records. Now there are Jiaqing and Guangxu editions in the Qing Dynasty and Huayang County Annals in the Republic of China.

According to the Records of Huayang County in Jiaqing, Huayang County is in the southeast of Chengdu today. Chengdu and Huayang counties used to be under the jurisdiction of Chengdu government, one in the northwest and the other in the southeast, with no obvious boundaries. Organs, schools and academies at all levels are intertwined. For example, Huayang County Office is located in Chengdu County, and Chengdu Fuxue is located in Huayang County. In the 9th year of Kangxi (1670), the abandoned Huayang County was merged into Chengdu County. Yongzheng five years (1727) after the county.

Later, in 1930s, Huayang County annals were published, but there was little difference between them and Qing Dynasty, which mainly supplemented the humanities, education and economy of Huayang County at that time.

In 965, during the Song Taizu period, Chengdu, Chengdu and Huayang were all located in Chengdu, Huayang County was located in the accreditation center of the Municipal Public Security Bureau in the east of Chengdu, and Chengdu County was located in the west of Chengdu. It lasted until the Southern Song Dynasty, the Yuan Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty. At that time, Chengdu County and Huayang County were "attached counties".

Chengdu County and Huayang County were the earliest counties to govern Chengdu. Together, the urban areas of the two counties are now five urban areas in Chengdu. The county boundary starts from Jiaochang in the south, passes through Jiabao Lane, Junping Street, Sanqiao South Street, Xidingzi Street and Qingshiqiao, and then passes through Xiawa Street in the south, middle and north, and frozen green trees to the Yonghe Palace in the north gate. It is bounded by the street center, with Huayang County in the southeast and Chengdu County in the northwest. Generally speaking, Huayang was originally named Zhongxingchang and belonged to Guangdu County (Shuangliu County) before the Tang Dynasty. After the Tang Dynasty, Zhongxing Field was under the jurisdiction of Huayang County. During the Anti-Japanese War, Huayang County moved to Zhongxingchang. After the transfer of Huayang County 1965, Zhongxing Town was once again included in Shuangliu County, but it was renamed Huayang Town. This is the historical origin of Huayang and Huayang County.

One of the most important places in Chengdu's history is Huayang County. Chengdu has always been the capital or central city of Sichuan, Huayang County is the first county in Chengdu, and its county and Chengdu County together form Chengdu.

In ancient times, Huayang County occupied a large area, including the southeast of Xindu, the west of Longquanyi, the east and south of Chengdu's main urban area, and the direct jurisdiction of Chengdu in Tianfu New District.

Now Huayang refers to Huayang Street, and now it is the resident of Chengdu Zhiguan District in Tianfu New District. Huayang Street used to belong to Huayang County, which is a part of Huayang County. At that time, it was a town below Huayang County, called Zhongxingchang, which was a relatively large town in the south of Huayang County.

After the revocation of Huayang County, Zhongxing Field was renamed Huayang Town. This is the origin of Huayang now.

Nowadays, with the establishment of Tianfu New District, most areas of Tianfu New District are based on the original Huayang County, and Huayang Street has become the resident of Tianfu New District directly under Chengdu.

Huayang in ancient times was not only the existence of a county, but also a regional concept. At that time, the political center of China was in Guanzhong, and south of Guanzhong was Huashan (Zhong Nanshan or Qinling), collectively known as Huayang. Sichuan's history book "Huayang Guozhi" is this concept. Many Taoist priests in Sichuan are called Huayang Zhenren and Huayangzi, which are probably the same concept. Huayang, a big geographical concept, should generally refer to parts of southern Shaanxi, Sichuan Basin and even Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

Huayang in a narrow sense refers to Huayang County, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. As the central county of Chengdu, Sichuan, the establishment of Chengdu County began in the pre-Qin period, which should be during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. Due to the large population, a county was separated from Chengdu County, which was originally called Shu County and later renamed Huayang County. This phenomenon also occurs in other densely populated counties. For example, guangzhou fu's division of Panyu County and Nanhai County, and Suzhou's division of Wuxian County and Changzhou County all occurred in the Sui and Tang Dynasties.

After the establishment of Huayang County, 1000 has been called the first county in Chengdu with Chengdu County for more than 2000 years. Both of them divide Chengdu into two parts, Huayang County in the east and Chengdu County in the west. Generally speaking, the area of both will not be too large. Not far from Chengdu to the west are Wenjiang County and Pixian County. Xipu County was set up between Chengdu and Pixian in history, so the scope of Chengdu County will not be too big. Huayang County is in the east of Chengdu. The Longquan Mountain Range and Longquan area, which are not far from the east of Chengdu in history, belong to Jianzhou. Now it is under the jurisdiction of Jianyang City, and there is Longquanyi Inspection Department in Jianzhou. Huayang County, caught in the middle, is certainly not too big. Huayang and Chengdu have no county towns, and they are under the same city management as Chengdu. Huayang Town in Chengdu has little to do with Huayang County in history now, but only served as Huayang County briefly between 1950 and 1965. Since then, Huayang County has been revoked, and its jurisdiction has been merged into Longquanyi District, Shuangliu County and Chengdu City.

Huayang County in Chengdu in the past is said to be an ancient cross-county, at the same level. Now that Chengdu is a sub-provincial level and Huayang is a street office, it's the funniest.
