MTO is the abbreviation of methanol to olefins, which is the core technology of coal to olefins process. It is the process of converting methanol into ethylene and propylene, and then producing polyolefins. MTO process opens up a new process route to produce basic organic chemical raw materials with coal or natural gas as raw materials, which is the most promising alternative route to the traditional oil-to-olefin route and an effective way to extend and develop coal chemical industry to petrochemical industry.
