I am a Japanese major, and I have been studying PHP for a year and a half now. I want to find a job in developing PHP software in Japan, and now the interview is limited.

Php software development is important in Japan. What recruiters value is your programming ideas/solid foundation/project experience. Or what you value most is your development ability rather than your Japanese ability.

If you really want to do the work related to php development, you should make use of all opportunities and resources to improve yourself. Not limited to Japanese software development companies. When your ability is improved, plus your Japanese ability, it will be much easier for you to change a job to develop Japan.

Of course, if Japanese software companies are willing to recruit students or interns, you can also try. Remember, development is hard work. Try it and you will know the truth. Don't whitewash it too much in your resume.
