Geologists collected Archean rock samples here in the process of studying the formation of Yuntai Mountain landform.

This red rock with bright color and clear texture was formed on the coastal beach 65.438+0.2 billion years ago. With the rise and fall of the tide at that time, Yuntaishan area sometimes sank to the bottom of the sea and sometimes surfaced. There are abundant sedimentary structural relics such as cross bedding, wave marks and mud cracks in the rocks, which is the evidence of the existence of ancient oceans at that time. The geological wonders in front of you let you appreciate what a real "great change" is.

Chibi in Chibi is one of the typical landscapes of Yuntai Mountain, and its rocks are purplish red sandstone formed 65.438+0.2 billion years ago. Walking on a gentle mountain road, I occasionally hear insects and birds singing, and the fresh air in the mountains is still a little cool. From time to time, there are stone benches and wooden benches to rest on the road, and along the way, we will pass Wangxiangtai, Xianque, Xianwufeng, Wangqintai, Wang Xianyuan and other scenic spots. Walking slowly to the top of the mountain, the first thing I saw was a Taoist temple: yuntaiguan. There is a couplet on the gate: on the left, it says "Everything is born of one person's life", and on the right, it says "Earth, Law, Taoism and Nature". You can pray and make wishes in the Taoist temple.

The "Chongyang Pavilion" on the cliff of Fenghuangling was built in the early Tang Dynasty. Originally a wooden structure, it was destroyed by war in the Yuan Dynasty. Legend has it that when Wang Wei boarded Yuntai Mountain, it coincided with Chongyang and went to the pavilion to miss his loved ones, so he wrote a farewell song on Chongyang Pavilion. This pavilion was built in memory of Wang Wei, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty. In 2002, the white wall and black eaves of the four-story Chongyang Pavilion were rebuilt on the original site. Yuntai Mountain Scenic Area has planned two plank roads. At present, the first plank road has been built, which is built on the cliff halfway up the mountain at an altitude of 1000 meters. It is U-shaped along the cliff wall, with a total length of more than 260 meters, including 68 meters of glass plank road. Curiosity and competitiveness can finally overcome the slight fear of heights and timidity. Standing on the glass plank road, there is a steep cliff on the right and an abyss on the left that you dare not look down. Standing between the cliffs, Tao began to walk slowly and gingerly, and gradually got used to it at the third place, and was no longer afraid. The glass plank road is a steel frame structure, using special tempered glass. The glass is about 2.7 cm thick and can bear 800 kg per square meter. Extremely safe, fear comes from the heart, not from the outside.

Looking at the opposite mountain, "Chongyang Pavilion" stands on another glass plank road, and the Cornus peak in the distance seems out of reach. After the completion of the second-phase plank road project, Yuntai Mountain will become the first scenic spot in the Central Plains with two glass plank roads. Now the open glass plank road has become the most popular tourist attraction.

After walking a quiet path, the noise of the crowd gradually came from the front, and I had been interspersed on the road to Mount Cowus. Looking up at the peak of Cornus officinalis, the mountain road is steep and rugged, which is a difficult road to climb. The main peak of Yuntai Mountain, Cornus officinalis peak, is 1308 meters above sea level, which is named after the ancient perennial aromatic plant Cornus officinalis. There is a Yaowang Cave at the peak waist, with a depth of 30m and a diameter of10m. According to legend, it was the place where Sun Simiao, the drug king of the Tang Dynasty, collected medicine and made an alchemy. There is an ancient yew tree in Wangyaodong, which is about 20 meters high. Its trunk is thick enough for three people to hold, and the tree is flourishing. It is said that it is the northernmost natural distribution place of Taxus chinensis in China, which has very important botanical value.

On the roadside not far from Wang Yaodong, there is an unremarkable stone tablet, which was established in the eighth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1869) and wrote "Gambling tablet is forbidden forever". According to legend, there were many pilgrims on the pilgrimage to the summit at that time, and the pilgrims could not go back that day. People often spend the night at the northern peak of Kornas Peak and gather for gambling. The deacon in charge of Ding Sheng specially built this monument to prevent gambling.

Climbing up a daunting steep stone step is a small gatehouse with a statue of "Taiyi Leiying turned into Buddha" with a red eyebrow and a golden whip. Taiyi Lei Huaying Buddha is the protector of Taoism, whose duty is to guard the mountain gate. So this small gatehouse should be the gate of the Taoist temple on the top of the mountain.

Climbing to the top of the mountain and overlooking the mountains, the peaks are like the tide, which makes people feel the heroism of "climbing to the top of the mountain, killing two birds with one stone, and all other mountains are dwarfed under the sky". . There is Zhenwu Hall on the top of the mountain, where Zhenwu Emperor died in a bitter struggle. It has become a famous Taoist shrine, filled with smoke all day long. There are also more than ten caves such as "Zao Zao Dong", "Wang Yandong" and "Huang Mudong".

The mountain road is circular, going up here and down there. There is no turning back, and the more people go down, the gazebo near the mountain gate is already crowded with tourists, and more than half of the climbers stop here. Back at the gate, snow-white Wang Wei and Sun Simiao stood as one, admired by later generations. Did celebrities make famous mountains or did famous mountains make famous people? The two complement each other and create each other.

It takes about an hour and a half to climb the Phoenix Ridge easily, and it takes about two hours to climb several levels of Cornus officinalis peak. It is steep and very tiring. You can choose one with poor physical strength, and both of them have to climb for four or five hours.

At this time, the mountain gate was already full of cars, and countless guides' flags and tourists crowded the huge parking lot in front of the mountain gate.

I thought it wouldn't be too hot in Henan before summer, but I didn't expect the sun to be very hot at noon. It should be a good arrangement to visit Xiaozhaigou at this time. Xiaozhaigou (including Quanwaterfall Gorge, Tanwaterfall Gorge and Macaca Valley) is a scenic spot with water as the highlight, and it should be cooler where there is water.

The spring waterfall gorge (Laotangou) gorge was formed in Cambrian 540-490 million years ago. After 23 million years of long-term flowing water erosion, transportation and gravity collapse, the ancient planation plane with an altitude of 800- 1200 meters was partially cut strongly, forming a canyon with a length of 3000 meters and a depth of 500 meters. There are only a few small streams left in the water curtain waterfall, and it is impossible to form a complete water curtain.

The way back is on the other side of the stream path. From beginning to end, the water is crystal clear, and the small fish inside are swimming happily in the water. There is no such thing as "clear water makes no fish". The fish in this water have evolved to be almost transparent, so it is difficult to find them without looking carefully.

Water curtain cave is a natural cave with water plants and stone eaves at the top, and the water drops on the stone eaves hang down from the top like crystal clear pearls. Tiny water droplets strung together, hanging on the green moss, and gently scattered in the pool, forming strings of glittering and translucent beads.

Looking up at the deep valley bottom, it is easy to be awed. If you stand on the Wan Ren, no matter where you are, you will feel dangerous. Above your head is a U-shaped valley surrounded by mountains on three sides and exposed on one side. Surrounded by cliffs, only the blue sky overhead is like sitting in a well and watching the sky.

I can't remember how many springs, waterfalls and pools I have walked through. The water in the canyon is very cold, and it seeps into the wind a little bit, and the summer heat suddenly disappears.

Macaque Valley is a hill. Monkey Valley has captive monkeys and monkey training classes, and there is a monkey park on the mountain. Those naughty monkeys who are free-range in the mountains are not afraid of people. Seeing monkeys with chains performing, I feel that human beings are really cruel. I skipped this scenic spot directly, so I have to climb an extra mountain to exercise.

Wanshan Temple, backed by natural barrier, climbed up the mountain and became a temple. There is a golden Buddha in the temple, so it is also called "Golden Buddha Temple". According to the examination, it was built in the Tang Dynasty, with the Heavenly King Hall, the Ursa Major Hall, the attached hall, etc., which is relatively deserted.

This stone pagoda was once the cemetery of monks in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The pagoda is 8 meters high, engraved with inscriptions and exquisitely made. Now that the new tower has been rebuilt, the old tower is gone.

However, the reconstruction and expansion have not been completed yet, and the scale is getting bigger and bigger, but there is almost no historical thing. Except for the mountain gate, other places are completely modern buildings. Is this reconstruction and expansion really good?

There are six scenic spots in Yuntai Mountain: Hongshi Gorge, Quanpu Gorge, Tanpu Gorge, Macaque Valley, Cornus officinalis Peak and Wanshan Temple. Among them, the most beautiful scenery is Hongshi Gorge, Quanpu Gorge and Tanpu Gorge. The value of these three scenic spots is basically supported by waterfalls. Without water, there is no waterfall, and the rest is just climbing mountains to see stones. Therefore, the best time to play Yuntai Mountain is July, August and September, when there is plenty of water.
