When will the second phase of Huaneng in Shidaowan start?

The second phase of the project was approved by the State Council on July 3, 20231.

After deliberation at the the State Council executive meeting, it was decided to approve 6 nuclear power units of Liaoning Xu Dabao Nuclear Power Project, Units 2 and 2 of Huaneng Shandong Shidaowan Nuclear Power Plant Expansion Project 1, and Units 5 and 6 of Fujian Ningde Phase II Project, which have been included in the national planning and passed the comprehensive safety assessment review. The above-mentioned projects can start construction after obtaining the nuclear power plant construction license issued by the National Nuclear Safety Administration.
