On the composition entitled "Happiness in Class"
Happiness in class When I started this topic, I couldn't help asking myself: Do things in class really make us happy? Especially after the members of the research center have experienced great hardships in trying to create a new education classroom in a very short time, we can really answer ourselves with such certainty: "Yes, the classroom is the place where we create and the source of our happiness." Can we really be so firm and calm? Furthermore, if there are no applause and flowers, if there are no more exams to convince you that your students have higher grades than others, where can you prove "happiness in class"? And if our happiness depends entirely on these, then are they happiness in the classroom or happiness outside the classroom? I once said that September is the first month of the educational calendar, and September 1st is New Year's Day on campus and in classrooms. But the September and New Year's Day of this education are not a beautiful poem for the members of the New Education Research Center. As they said in the article "Julius" they read in the summer vacation, it is not so much life as work, not so much singing as laying the foundation. While sweating profusely and working hard, do we really see the bloom in the future as promised by the new education dream? For the members of the research center, these short two or three weeks are as long as a whole winter in the north or a whole summer in the south. They seem to have eaten potatoes for a year, and they seem to be used to storing a bucket of water for washing and cleaning all day. They seem to have lived here for a long time, constantly communicating with most parents who don't know the language, and experiencing the painful and beautiful thing of "going to school" with more than half of freshmen who have never attended kindergarten and a considerable number of children who have been left behind in the first grade. Yes, I looked up and found that I had come so far. Looking back, we just arrived-in late August, Wei Zhiyuan and I were still discussing the possibility of Dongsheng's team relocation. Now, we are loyal aborigines in this desert land. Personally, I love this land as much as my ancestors have been rooted here for hundreds of years. In fact, this love is only because in this dry land, there is a dream of new education and a desire of the new education research center to have a pure educational soil. Everything in the classroom is not all romantic. In the first week of school, one or two senior high school teachers were completely hoarse. Although it is a small class with only 28 children in each class, the situation is beyond the imagination of ordinary people. This is a land of rapid prosperity, but people's habits, even the habits of some teachers, are mostly cast by years, and basically operate in the way of a few years ago. It is estimated that more than 60% of parents can't actually read, and some parents will read their own names, but if they want to read the letters written by teachers, I'm afraid there are very few-so some teachers question it. Under such circumstances, is it necessary to write a weekly letter to parents, which is especially advocated by the new education? I said, this only shows that we need to write more, indicating that we have an unprecedented urgency to educate our families and parents. However, perhaps our letters to our parents should be like picture books, with equal emphasis on pictures, photos and words. The vast majority of children have never attended kindergarten before entering primary school, or they have only attended nursing kindergartens. What I want to say is not that they have no knowledge of linguistics and mathematics. In fact, we have always opposed the accurate teaching of language and numbers in kindergartens in advance. I mean, they have neither childhood education nor collective life experience. What's more, most of the children here have to live on campus because of the long distance, which means that they will leave their relatively warm families for the first time and live in a paramilitary school. There are also a few parents who are not too far away. I don't know if they are trying to lead an honest and clean life or are too busy at work. They often cram too young children into school, as if they were relieved of their burdens. The school is a special school transferred from a private school. Teachers are hardworking and simple, with good discipline and standardized behavior. Students respect their teachers more than any school I have ever been to. The school teacher's food is very simple. They can eat potatoes almost three times a day, add a little meat and mix dishes, which is enough for a long time. And the children's meals are naturally imaginable-nutritionists in oriental schools and the like seem unimaginable here. Look at the dry yellow sand land outside the school, and you will know that there may be no other crops and vegetables except potatoes and goats in this land. This is also a habit, it is good to get used to it, but for children who have just left home and foreigners, there may be a difficult adaptation period. Because students' learning foundation is really poor, many parents can't help their children learn at all, so we can understand and imagine why such a large proportion of children stay behind. According to an informed teacher, there are five or six children with zero score and almost zero score in two classes of Senior Two. In the first week of school, there was a special girl who sang and danced at any time, saying that you were very kind and ran to the blackboard to draw pictures. Every day of the week. Another second-grade child who just transferred to another school was born on the first day of school. Everyone looked everywhere, called the police if they couldn't find it, and received a phone call saying that they had arrived at a relative's house. Later, the boy who wanted to study hard cried every day, because he knew nothing and wouldn't add anything within ten minutes. The other two children can count to 6 and write 5. When the second-grade teacher and Yan were still in Jiangsu, they compiled the first unit of Autumn of the Four Seasons according to the second-grade textbook. The first week turned out to be extremely painful. Finally, under my persuasion, I changed it to a nursery rhyme similar to that of the first grade, only to find that children really can only adapt to these first-grade children's curriculum materials. It is not difficult for us to imagine that the backwardness of these children is not so much the responsibility of the original teachers, but rather that our education did not think of their situation in advance and did not design education, textbooks, teaching and courses for them. In the first week, because there is only one administrator in the dormitory of hundreds of students, the class teacher is required to participate in the accommodation management, from morning exercises to sleeping at night. However, the concept of the new lower education curriculum requires that the number of words must be held by a teacher. However, Ma Ling and other teachers who are eager for a perfect classroom are almost unwilling to give up any class and put the beauty of sound and body into their own tasks. Therefore, this is almost a war from early morning to late night, and in such a war, curriculum thinking will be an impossible luxury. So I had an urgent discussion with President He Zhizhong. The headmaster who has been baptized by the new educational concept understands this very well, so he recruited two young life guidance teachers as the deputy directors of the first and second grades. Even so, how can a teacher with such a strong sense of responsibility give all the affairs and responsibilities to others from the beginning? Several teachers are not used to school meals, and two of them feel sick when they enter the canteen. At first, the curtains could not be installed, and the sky on the plateau was particularly bright, and sleep was affected. ..... Yes, for us, this is a war. This is another tough battle for the research center. But unlike previous bitter battles, I can't replace any of them this time. I used to try to be at the forefront, but this time I can only stand aside and dare not make a fuss. I know very well that the things in the classroom will eventually be strengthened by a soul, and that soul will stand there calmly, confidently, kindly and confidently, insisting on bringing beautiful things to the children until the years are deep, and bloom has repeatedly ... But at this moment, can we all understand this? During this period, I often feel that a deep sleep is better, just like this kind of deep sleep without companions. When I wait, I don't know what I can do or say, but what is a poet in a poor age? But you said, they are like the sacred priests of Dionysus, migrating and wandering around in the sacred night. -Holderlin's Bread and Wine In deep exhaustion, can these comrades still remember these poems they have read? Yes, only in this kind of fatigue can we deeply feel the heaviness of being an ordinary teacher, the heaviness of dreams and the broad hope. Only in this kind of fatigue can we clearly know that we are the holy priests of the new education, whether we are migrating, wandering and guarding the sacredness in the sacred night, or pursuing the sacredness, saying the sacredness and singing the sacredness along the sacred footprint. Is it like the surrounding, after struggling, struggling and constantly failing, you finally fall asleep and become a part of this night, or do you finally wake up and stand up, like a magical water lily, closing every night and still blooming at dawn? I believe that Protestant education has only one answer. Complaining may make the heart feel better temporarily, but it may also make the soul get used to the heavy responsibility of refusing, as the poem says: I often feel/sleep better these days, just like sleeping without a partner. Then I remembered another poem by Holderlin: If life is purely tiring, people can still look up and say: Do I want to exist? Yes! As long as goodness and innocence remain in people's hearts, people are not without measuring their joy by divinity. Is God unpredictable and unknowable? Is God as obvious as heaven? I prefer to believe the latter. God is the measure of human beings. Full of hard work, but people live poetically in this land. -In the poem "Under the Bright Night" by Holderlin, "people live poetically in this land" was widely circulated. Unfortunately, people have forgotten the profound meaning of the word "the earth" and the premise of "full of hardships" in this poem. Why do we still want to exist when life is purely tired? Because, as the poem says, "As long as goodness and innocence remain in people's hearts, people will measure themselves with divinity with joy". As far as we are concerned, as long as we realize that there is only one life, and this life is almost entirely for education, at this moment we have devoted ourselves to our dreams, then no matter what the conditions are, we will measure ourselves from the height of idealism and measure our behavior and value with the new education as the criterion. I admit that this kind of excessive hard work is not necessary for new education, nor is it the result itself. However, perhaps poetic habitation should also go through this kind of hardship, and perhaps tranquility and calmness should also go through this kind of hardship. Because several generations who once lived in this heavy land have suffered this heavy and hardship, regardless of success or failure. Yes, the flower on the branch is not necessarily the severe winter, and the severe winter is not the reason and basis for the existence of the flower on the branch. It's just that all plants that want to take root and blossom in this land have to endure this severe winter. Those who can't stand this severe winter will wither here and become another legend. Therefore, people who live poetically must be deeply rooted and stand in the four seasons with pain and dreams. At the beginning of this week, on Sunday night, the children left home for the third time and entered four classrooms. When I was wandering in the corridor, I heard the crisp but not too loud sound of reading from four classrooms. When those immature little faces greeted me with a smile, I felt the happiness of the future classroom. Less than twenty days later, the original agitation has begun to disappear. Peace and warmth have begun to spread. On the playground, when those "children with serious problems" ran to the teacher and threw themselves into the teacher's arms, and the teacher greeted them with a smile, I felt the future happiness of the classroom. I have repeatedly stressed that for those special children, what is important now is neither discipline nor knowledge, but a sense of security, a feeling of being cared for, cared for and loved. Then, I rekindle the spark of self-esteem from my own life characteristics and every little progress in my discipline. This week, I entered the second grade and took a picture book class. I noticed that no child in the whole classroom was depressed, and the worst child could return to class immediately with a little distraction. After class, as soon as the children see me, they tell me stories in dialect or show me their paintings. At this time, I feel the happiness of the future classroom, because I know that this is only the humble starting point of a great story. When the next class really begins, their spirits will be baptized by beautiful things again and again until their souls are resurrected, full of spirit, full and bright. So I long for quiet, I hope everyone will spend the first month of busy and overworked, and then I can sit together and discuss and study more. Studying every child's soul, understanding the essence of every poem, picture book, text and mathematics knowledge, and thinking about how they can make children shine at the moment ... Everything that happens in class is destined to be full of hard work. If people want to live poetically in this thick land, they have to be able to withstand this scorching sun and the coming winter like plants on this land.
