Jiaojiang District, under the jurisdiction of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, is located at the entrance of Taizhou Bay on the central coast of Zhejiang Province. It was called "Haimen" in ancient times and is the main urban area of Taizhou. Founded in 198 1, it was renamed Jiaojiang as the first county-level city in Zhejiang Province because of the same name as Haimen City in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province.
