Interview Experience of JPMorgan Chase, the Top Wall Street Investment Bank!

Let me introduce myself first. I am a senior in probability and statistics department, and my graduation ambition is a bit complicated: I made up my mind to go abroad before my senior year's winter vacation, and then I changed my mind to go to work within a week. No internship experience before the interview, no experience in club activities. I only had two interview experiences from beginning to end, the first time I was rejected and the second time I received an offer.

Since I have such a complicated ambition, I'd better introduce my idea of working abroad first. Like all other students who went abroad, I studied in New Oriental, took two G exams, and went through a long and exhausting application process ... No one, including myself, wanted to find a job in the past. The only difference from others is that when others are still confused about applying for the job, I still have leisure to stir up job fairs, such as posting resumes on Morgan Stanley and CICC websites. At that time, I just thought it was interesting and wanted to accumulate interview experience. When I got JPMorgan Chase's offer, I really realized the seriousness of the problem. At present, there are two ways: studying abroad for a PhD as a teacher, or working for an MBA as an executive. Although you won't go one way, you won't go the other, but after all, you have to study for five years! When a senior sister I once admired told me of her disappointment in America, I decided to choose the latter. Because I'm afraid I don't have the passion to be a facade; I like America, but I don't like it to the point where I have to go. What's more, all my dreams about America may be just an illusion I made for myself. When foreign brothers and sisters tell us that American campuses are just beautiful villages, this illusion no longer exists. Although it is difficult to give up all previous efforts, we should not let sunk costs hinder our decision.

The first interview:

Get to the point, interview experience. The first company I met was CICC, and the recruitment procedures were: resume, group interview, written test and page-by-page test. That's all I know. There's nothing to say about your resume. I just filled out a Chinese and English form online, which is very long. I must be patient. Then go to Tsinghua Group for an interview. It was my first time to go to Yuan Jing, Tsinghua, and I was late. I found that the interviewer was later than me when I arrived. J: Look at what people around me are wearing. I can't wait to turn around: everyone else is dressed as a crow, but I am wearing a red sweater and a white coat, which is very eye-catching. Anyway, I'm here to play, I thought, and I swaggered past. Group interview means that two interviewers face about eight candidates. From the beginning of self-introduction, everyone tries their best to express themselves. I think I am the most humble one. Then give a debate topic: whether Beijing should limit the number of private cars and divide the candidates into two groups for debate. There was a man and a woman who were particularly aggressive and quarreled with each other. I just watched the fire on the other side and said a word or two occasionally because there was really nothing to say. Finally, let's say an interesting thing in English, which is probably the last chance to show ourselves. English is my strong point, and the interviewer seems to be impressed by it. A week later, I received a written notice. Don't talk about the specific content of the written test on bbs (lest Admiralty say that I have infringed copyright J, and I can communicate privately if I am interested), but I need good English reading and writing skills and basic accounting knowledge. In a word, as a student of several colleges, I didn't answer any math problems and was blind. After the written test came back, I thought that if CICC continued to let me interview, there might be something wrong with their HR.

Two weeks later, I received an interview notice. I still wear my lucky clothes, red sweater and white coat. There are two rounds of interviews. The first interviewer is a handsome gg, but cool. Ask me why I came to CICC, ask me what I think of the stock market trend (answer: the stock market will go down because of interest rate hikes), ask me if I care about the stock market (answer: a little, actually not at all), and ask me how many points the stock market opened today (too ft! I can only say that I don't know. It took half a year to wake up. It was less than nine o'clock, and the stock market didn't open at all! So when interviewing, honesty comes first. The second is a middle-aged interviewer, who gave me an English newspaper, but I read it. I was so nervous that I read it word by word. He then asked what the newspaper said, not to mention that I didn't know the technical terms. Even if there is, I won't pay attention to what I read when I read it. In this way, my interview with gold is over.

To sum up:

(1) Don't try to win the first interview, think that I am here to study. Indeed, we should use a keen eye to see what people around us are doing (they are all elites of Guanghua and management, and we have a lot to learn), including dress, business etiquette (I am not used to shaking hands for the first time) and attitude (aggressive? Humble? ), speaking ... The most important thing is to be good at imitation.

(2) Group interviews should not be too aggressive, but cooperative and constructive. I haven't seen those two comrades quarrel since the written test. The written test stresses speed. Although it has a word limit, I ignored it and wrote some questions for each question. Some students just looked at the number of words and didn't finish reading them.

(3) honesty.

(4) prepre pred!

Second interview:

JPMorgan Chase. I saw JPMorgan Chase's job advertisement on CCER's website. It's already February, and my American university offer is coming one after another. Still in the spirit of seeing the world, I submitted my resume, which is basically the kind I sent to American universities. Less than a week later, a Hong Kong gg called for an interview. The question asked is normal: Why do you want to work in an investment bank? Why do you want to go to JPMorgan Chase? He also asked me about my interest, so I told him that I had joined the piano club. That's all. After the phone call, my roommate spoke highly of my English. (Is it that good? )

A few weeks later, I thought I had sunk into the sea, but I didn't expect to call again to tell me to go to CCER for an interview. This is a real face-to-face interview. I quickly went to the zoo to buy a cheap suit (the learning result of an interview with CICC), looked at JPMorgan Chase's website at night, wrote down the main points of investment banking and memorized them. There are two rounds of interviews, two or three interviewers in each round, one for me, including officials from Shanghai and Hong Kong, all in English. The questions asked include: As students of several schools, why do you want to invest in banks? What advantages do you think you have? If you are an employee in JPMorgan Chase, how do you introduce JPMorgan Chase to your customers? (Fortunately, I just recited it the night before yesterday) What would you do if you had to deal with multiple tasks at the same time? The most ft question is, tell us the most interesting thing in your life, and they obviously make fun of us.

The overall feeling is:

(1) Speak fluent English, which is their language.

(2) It doesn't matter if you are wrong, as long as you can admit your mistake in time.

(3) They value personal ability more than professional background.

(4) Try to write down their names to show your interpersonal skills.

(5) Don't be mad!

The third step is to meet the executives of four companies. The second stage is HR or associate, and the third stage is vice president and executive director. At this stage, there are only two interviewers left, me and another girl from Tsinghua. The interview place is the company. I feel that at this time, they will no longer make things difficult for us, but will introduce us to the company culture and business to see if we can get along with them. Half of the people in the company are foreigners, so once again, spoken English is very important.

It is also important to get Morgan's offer this time, which is why I cherish this opportunity more and more. In addition, the interview can really exercise people: be good at learning from others, be mature, and think twice before you act. I hope to use my experience to prove that for students from several colleges, there are other equally attractive outlets besides going abroad for graduate studies, as long as we keep our eyes open.
