1. Jiuquan Airport is an abandoned airport, located on the gravel beach in the southern suburb of Jiuquan City, Gansu Province, China. Built in June 1932. After liberation, China and the Soviet Union set up a station in Jiuquan to maintain the airport.

2. From1949 to 10, the runway, houses and roads of the former southern suburb airport are mainly reconstructed. After the renovation, the runway, taxiway and apron are flat and firm, and have passed the acceptance and are suitable for use.

3. According to business needs, the Air Force allocates houses as Chinese investment for airport production services, such as offices, reception desks, central launch pads, orientation desks, garages, guest houses, canteens, waiting rooms, business offices, staff quarters, bathrooms and other facilities. The construction of the station was jointly completed by civil aviation workers of China and the Soviet Union, thus ensuring the official navigation of 1950 in July.

4. Although Jiuquan Airport has been built and maintained several times, its basic level is low and it is close to Xishan Mountain, which can't meet the needs of civil aviation development. In order to further develop civil aviation, the infrastructure project of moving and building a station was carried out in Jiuquan. 1953, a new airport later belonging to Jiayuguan city was built and put into use, while the original Jiuquan airport was abandoned and no longer used. However, the station name of Jiuquan Terminal has always been used as 1983.
