Difference between Distinguished Academician and Double Academician

Distinguished Academician refers to the employee who is already an academician of China Academy of Sciences or Academy of Engineering and has his own work unit, but is employed by another work unit, not full-time, and the personnel relationship is not affiliated with the distinguished work unit, which belongs to part-time.

Double-hired academicians are a kind of part-time academicians. When an academician is employed by two or more units at the same time, the original work unit of the academician calls him "academician", and other institutions that employ the academician call him "double-employed academician".

"Double-employed academician" is the product of the utilitarian title of academician, which often hides huge practical benefits afterwards. The part-time jobs of academicians such as "Distinguished Fellow", "Double Fellow" and "Enjoying Fellow" have also become the focus of academicians' meetings of the two academies for many times, while China Academy of Engineering clearly stated in the Code of Scientific Ethics for Academician of China Academy of Engineering that it would not accept the so-called "Double Fellow" and other similar titles.
