Hebei Polytechnic of Building Materials is located in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. It is the deputy director unit of the National Building Materials Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and the leading unit of the Hebei Building Materials Vocational Education Group.

The college was formerly the Qinhuangdao Glass Industry Technical School established by the State Administration of Building Materials in 1978. In 1985, the Qinhuangdao Branch of the Management Cadre College of the State Administration of Building Materials was added. In 1998, it was transferred to Hebei and merged with the Hebei Building Materials Industry School. Hebei Building Materials Staff University was established and restructured into Hebei Building Materials Vocational and Technical College in 2001.
