Which is more popular, CAD or UG?

If "CAD" means "AutoCAD", it should be a basic skill and must be mastered! Then learn other software such as UG.

Now there is a view that learning "3D modeling" software such as ProE, UG and Catia is more helpful for finding a job. In fact, learning AutoCAD and other "engineering drawing software" is correct.

Because fundamentally, engineers speak with drawings, not models! To tell the truth, none of the 3D software I have used is satisfied with the engineering drawing mode. UG and ProE, these old softwares are simply ... (Needless to say, none of them are good). SolidEdge and Catia are better, but they don't support GB standard. Inventor and SolidWorks support GB standard well, but they still need to import the drawings they generate into AutoCAD for final improvement.

In addition, what kind of "3D modeling" software is used in the work is decided by the unit, so it doesn't matter. Anyway, there will be plenty of time and opportunities to study and practice. Even if you have studied UG, if the company uses SolidEdge, you still have to learn it again. On the other hand, most units choose AutoCAD as the drawing software, so it's no harm to study it carefully.

One more thing, AutoCAD is not simple, the standard version is actually unfathomable, and there are more mecha enhanced version and 3D desktop version. I have been using AutoCAD-R 12, and now I am in the 2007(R 17) version. I don't want to say that I am proficient in this software.

Seriously study the basic AutoCAD, have the energy to spend some time learning about its 1 and two 3D softwares, have more time to read more professional books, and don't forget your books (after all, you are not a computer student, and the guy who eats is quite knowledgeable about this major). This is the correct learning method.
