Shandong Sheikh University was founded in 2004, and its predecessor was Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2003, with the approval of Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Jinan Sheikh Vocational and Technical College was established.

In 2004, with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's Government, it was renamed as Shandong Sheikh Vocational and Technical College.
