In the late 1980s, it merged with the factory (the predecessor of Shanxi Reconstruction Machinery) to become Shandong Lingong Machinery Co., Ltd. It is a state-owned enterprise. In the 1990s, due to institutional, management, economic environment and other reasons, a large number of state-owned enterprises across the country faced losses and faced restructuring. Lingong spun off Qianjin Factory and transferred non-performing assets to Qianjin Factory (Qianjin Factory is a state-owned enterprise). After that, Lingong escaped from its shell. It was restructured into a private enterprise and later listed as a joint-stock company. It was delisted and restructured into a limited company around 2003. In 2006, it cooperated with Volvo. Volvo used Lingong to enter the Chinese market, and Lingong used Volvo to enter the international market. From this, the excavator became their cooperation Lingong's illegitimate son, Lingong negotiated with Volvo to retain the rights to the Lingong brand. As a result, Volvo's excavators were produced in Lingong, and with the Lingong brand attached, they became Lingong excavators, and Volvo rented a workshop in Lingong Industrial Park to independently produce Volvo brand excavators. All Lingong excavators are OEM.
