Zhongyuan Institute of Technology is located in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. Zhongyuan Institute of Technology is a key discipline construction university in Henan Province, which focuses on engineering, takes electronic information and textile and clothing as its characteristic advantages, and has the coordinated development of engineering, management, art, science, literature, economics, law and philosophy.

It is the second batch of demonstration universities to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, a member of the Sino-Russian Jiaotong University Alliance, and the chairman of the Henan Provincial University Transportation Education Alliance. In 20 18, the school was confirmed by Henan province as the project construction unit for awarding doctoral degrees.

The school was founded in 1955, formerly known as Yuci Textile Machinery Industry School; 1957 moved to Zhengzhou and changed its name to Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Manufacturing School;

Since then, it has gone through Henan Textile Machinery Institute, Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Institute, Zhengzhou Textile Electromechanical School, Zhengzhou Textile Machinery Accessories Factory, Zhengzhou Textile Electromechanical College and other stages. 1987 was upgraded to an undergraduate course, and was named Zhengzhou Textile Vocational and Technical College, which was affiliated to the former Ministry of Textile Industry. 1998 was placed under the management of Henan province, and it was renamed Zhongyuan Institute of Technology in 2000.

As of April 2023, the school has three teaching areas: Longhu Campus, Zhongyuan Campus and West Campus, covering an area of 16 10 mu; At present, there are 2 teaching colleges (departments), 7 undergraduate majors, more than 22,000 full-time students and 942 faculty members, including full-time teachers. There are 13 master's degree authorization points for first-level disciplines, 60 master's degree authorization points for two disciplines, and 17 master's degree authorization categories.

By April 2023, the school had set up 2 1 teaching colleges (departments) and 7 1 undergraduate majors.
