There are no young people in the village, and the old people can't speak Mandarin. As for the children, a group of people are very happy together, but sometimes they are very fragile.

For example, it's cloudy and rainy in the mountains, and children look at the mountains when they get up in the morning. I don't know what they are thinking. There should be missing and longing. When the weather gets cold, I should miss my mother, which is probably their particularly vulnerable part.

When they know that we are leaving, they will be afraid and ask, "Teacher Xiao Jiang, are you leaving?" This state is probably like the fear when their parents are leaving.

Our teaching is not just about teaching children. Is to get to know them first, and then do a project that really suits them. Chinese and math are taught by local teachers. What I teach focuses on how to take care of myself and how to protect myself.

A child wrote to me that he had diarrhea as soon as he drank Tianshui, and now the school finally has hot water to drink. There are also children who write: "Teacher, I don't feel well." I asked the child alone. The child said, "teacher, I have a heart attack." I asked, "How do you know you have a heart attack?" The child said that he heard other children talk about the symptoms of heart disease and felt very similar to himself. When he exercised, he would gasp.

"Go to the place where the children live"

I spend about two weeks to a month every year, going to Xiaogaya Village and staying with the children. The time I went this time (2xx) was from the end of February to the middle of March, just a few weeks. Compared with the previous focus on children, this time I have a meeting with the teacher every day to understand the teacher's thoughts and how to interact.

this time, it was particularly meaningful to make a home visit. I always think about how to really understand children and their families. This is not introduced by listening to other people's languages. You won't know until you go to the place where they live.

I visited two schools, two villages and six or seven families. It's not that I don't want to run more, it's too far. Two schools, walking from one to the other, more than ten kilometers, walked for three hours because the road was difficult.

One night, we had dinner at the home of four children. Children in the village basically live with grandparents every other generation. This family is a junior high school sister with three siblings. Four people live in an empty house. Their parents didn't come back for the New Year and didn't send them any living expenses. Their grandmother lives nearby, and the source of children's living expenses is the money that grandma sells rice and they grow their own corn.

My sister invited us at that time, and I said, "Then pick some of your own vegetables and eat them together." We went out to do other things first, and when we came back, we saw several children squatting on the ground in the backyard, pulling chicken feathers with their little jars of water. At that time, my heart was broken, and I was thinking, shouldn't I come home for a visit?

At dinner, my younger brother, who was in the second grade of primary school, put in a few extra pieces because he hadn't eaten chicken for a long time. My sister in junior high school cried at that time, saying that my brother was very ignorant and should leave this to the teacher. How many things must such a small child bear in his heart? At that time, I was at a loss, and I didn't know how to tell this sister. This is also something for us to think about.

this family has a younger sister who paints very well. She gave me a picture, all of which are Yao's national costumes, and it was very good. I will discuss with the teaching teacher whether I can cultivate this sister. Every time I teach as a teacher, I will give her some lessons and send some paints alone.

Few children can sing Yao songs now, but one little girl can. Her uncle said that the school is far from the village, and parents of seven or eight-year-old children can rest assured that they walk two or three hours to school every week and usually board at school. But preschool children can only stay in the village. Grandparents can't even speak Mandarin. These children sit there in a daze every day. Once they enter primary school and can't keep up, they will feel inferior and don't want to study. After finishing primary school, they will drop out of school. What about these children? Can you build some pre-school schools in the mountain village, similar to kindergartens?

After he reflected this problem, I went to the Bama Education Bureau. The person from the Education Bureau said, Mr. Jiang, you can afford to build a kindergarten. What about the lack of teachers? This is really a difficult question.

"Progress every year"

But we go there every year and feel progress every year.

Don't talk about the physical examination at the earliest, the child doesn't even have to wear shoes. I went to another school this time, just to vaccinate the children.

It turns out that there is no canteen in the school. Children bring their own meals. When the lunch box was opened, it was all black rice. They made a small fire on the ground and cooked it. Many children didn't bring rice, and when the older children ate, the younger children took a sip.

Now that there is a free lunch, there is a small canteen in the school, where my aunt cooks, and there are two vegetarian dishes and one meat dish. This is really very good. Because the eating conditions are far better than at home, children love to come to school, and parents are particularly willing to send their children to school.

Once upon a time, we asked our children, "What is your dream?" They don't talk, just stare at you and don't know what the future is. Now many people write me small cards saying that although the conditions are difficult now, I will definitely work hard and be a mountain teacher and a star like you in the future.

Every time we go back, the children who have graduated from primary school and gone to junior high school will come back to see us. These children, who used to be very shy and afraid to speak and express themselves, now take the initiative to be my teaching assistant.

"I can't take a shower, but it's still a little uncomfortable"

Over the years, the accumulated time to teach is about seven or eight months. Because of work, the time can't be too fixed, so I try to arrange it in advance.

When I went there one year, it happened that there was a drought. Those children didn't wash their faces for more than a week, and they didn't touch water except for drinking, so their noses were dark. When we arrived, we helped them wash their faces first. After cleaning up, we found that we couldn't wash them either.

Now that conditions are better, schools will build public toilets. There is also a room for teachers and students to wash. But I also try not to wash it, because there is really no water, so I have to save it.

I'm not a professional kindergarten teacher. My motivation and experience mainly come from my experience.

As an only child, I am particularly lucky that I met many excellent teachers when I was a child, although I didn't have many small partners.
