How to make a flyer using PS?

1. Create a new shop sign/promotional picture

Start PhotoShop, click File/New, the size you need, here I will make a promotional picture.

There are several parameters in it that I will tell you:

Name: It is the name of your file

Width: It is the width of the file

Height: the height of the file

Resolution: the definition of the file (usually the default is 72).

Pixels: That is the unit of width and height. Generally, just select pixels.

2. Open the material

Because I need to use materials, I have prepared a picture of the classic WINXP desktop as the material. File/Open and find this material. Follow the steps in the picture, click File/Open, select the material, and click Open.

Note: If there is a small lock on the right layer, we cannot move it. We need to unlock it here. Double-click the small lock position on the right side, a dialog box will pop up, and then click OK. Then you will see the small lock disappear. At this time we can move this material.

3. Move the material

Now we need to move the material to the previously created file, right-click the layer, select [Copy Layer], a dialog box will pop up, and give the layer Rename to [material picture]. [Target/Document] Select the name of the newly created file and click [OK].

4. Processing materials

Now we can close this window and open our new promotional image. As you will see, the size may be wrong, sometimes larger and sometimes smaller. What should we do at this time?

First, select the material layer. When the picture turns into a blue background, it means it has been selected.

To change the size, press and hold "CTRL" "T". At this time, the picture becomes a grid border. Click and hold the border with the mouse and drag it to the size you want. If the picture is too large, it will not To facilitate changing the size, you can use "CTRL" "-" to reduce the proportion of the picture, and then use CTRL ALT 0 to display the picture completely.

After the size changes, just press Enter/ENTER to save.

Open the text function

Click [Horizontal Text Tool] in the left toolbar of PS or use the shortcut key T.

5. Process text

Click anywhere on the picture to write the slogan or slogan we want to write (in order to demonstrate to everyone, I wrote "Computer Daily maintain").

After washing, click on any layer on the right. It may be ugly, so let’s beautify the text next.

First, follow the previous steps, select the text layer, then find the text toolbar above, select the font, size, font color, etc. I chose Founder and Comfort, size 200, black font. Note: If you feel that the gaps between the fonts are large, you can select the [Switch Character and Paragraph Panel] on the far right of the color to make specific adjustments. Among them, 30 and -100 are used to reduce the gaps between fonts. You can try it yourself.

6. Beautify the text

After reaching this point, it still feels a bit ugly, so let’s beautify the text.

Right-click the text layer, select [Blending Options], and a dialog box will pop up. Many good-looking effects are created here. I will introduce one of them [Stroke] to you.

When using this function, you can see the effect you made in real time on the left side, and control [stroke] through the effect. As shown in the picture, the attribute I selected is white and the size is 12.

The final effect is as shown in the picture. You can try other functions.

If there is no [Save] step, then all the previous work has been in vain. [CTRL S] save the format you want. It is recommended that you save a PSD format first for easy modification later, and then save it in other formats. , generally can be saved as JPG, PNG, GIF, etc.
