In 2003, the preliminary work of Zhushui River waterway was started. After a series of lengthy examination and approval, three years later, in 2006, the Provincial Department of Transportation and the Provincial Development and Reform Commission jointly approved the Zhushui River waterway. After the project is completed, the waterway from Jiaxiang and Juye to Nansi Lake will be opened, so that Jiaxiang and Juye sections of Zhushui River will be connected with the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, and goods can reach all parts of the country directly through the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, greatly reducing the cost of goods transportation. The waterway reconstruction project of Zhushui River is a comprehensive waterway regulation project, and the waterway design standard is a single-track three-level waterway. The dredging length of the project is 5 1.849km, from Juye County to the east through Jiaxiang County and rencheng district, and finally connects to the main channel of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal.
