Sony Music established a branch in Taiwan in 1991, and Boardman (BMG) A branch was established in Taiwan in 1992. In 1996, Boardman successively acquired Taiwan Entertainment Music, Jushi Music, and Golden Point Records in Taiwan. Since 2004, Boardman and Sony Music have merged, and their respective subsidiaries in Taiwan have also merged to form "Sony Boardman". On August 5, 2008, Sony announced the acquisition of the other 50% stake in Sony Boardman held by Boardman, becoming a 100% subsidiary, and renamed it back to "Sony Music Entertainment Inc. (SMEI)". Taiwan's SONYBMG also changed its name and underwent website consolidation on November 14, 2008.
