However, many residents are also deeply troubled by the proximity of residents' houses in garbage bins. So how far is the garbage bin from the residents' homes? Is there an express provision? In fact, the law does not clearly stipulate how far the trash can is from residents' houses. Some residential properties have regulations, generally about 10 meter, which does not affect residents' lives. The trash cans outside residential buildings are generally relatively large trash cans of class 180L240L, with a large amount of garbage, which is generally outside of 10 meter to avoid affecting residents' lives. However, in some places, conditions are limited, which is not conducive to residents taking out garbage. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a flip trash can to facilitate residents and avoid the smell from spreading outward.

Legal basis: Article 16 of the Measures for the Administration of Urban Domestic Waste, units and individuals shall put domestic waste into designated garbage containers or collection places according to the specified location and time requirements. Large pieces of garbage such as waste furniture should be placed at the designated collection place according to the specified time.

In areas where classified collection of municipal solid waste is implemented, units and individuals shall, in accordance with the prescribed classification requirements, put domestic waste into corresponding garbage bags and put them into designated garbage containers or collection places.

Hotels, restaurants, institutions, colleges and other units shall, in accordance with the provisions, collect and store the kitchen waste generated by their own units, hand it over to the urban domestic waste collection and transportation enterprises that meet the requirements of these Measures, and transport it to the designated urban domestic waste disposal sites.

It is forbidden to dump, scatter and pile up municipal solid waste at will.
