What is the refrigerant of the air conditioner?

Air-conditioning refrigerant, also known as refrigeration working medium, is the working medium of refrigeration cycle, which uses the phase change of refrigerant to transfer heat, that is, the refrigerant absorbs heat when it vaporizes in the evaporator and releases heat when it condenses in the condenser.

First, the main characteristics of refrigerant

1. Don't destroy the ozone layer. Its molecular formula contains chlorine, so its ozone layer destruction potential (ODP) is 0.055. Global warming potential (GWP) is 0.35.

2. Very low toxicity. Like R22, the allowable concentration is 1000ppm.

3. nonflammable. Combustible polarity in air is 0.

4. High chemical and thermal stability.

5. The water solubility is almost the same as R22.

6. It is a mixed refrigerant and consists of two refrigerants.

7. Insoluble in mineral oil or alkylbenzene oil. (compatible with POE[ ester lubricant] and PVE[ ether lubricant]).

Second, the operation principle of refrigerant:

When the air conditioner is in refrigeration operation, refrigerant gas with low temperature and low pressure is sucked by the compressor and pressurized into refrigerant gas with high temperature and high pressure. The high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant gas is released in the outdoor heat exchanger through the condenser (usually air-cooled air conditioner, that is, the copper tube of outdoor unit) and becomes a medium-temperature and high-pressure liquid (heat is taken away by outdoor circulating air).

The medium-temperature and high-pressure liquid will become low-temperature and low-pressure liquid after capillary expansion and depressurization, and the low-temperature and low-pressure liquid refrigerant will become low-temperature and low-pressure gas after heat absorption and evaporation by evaporator (indoor copper pipe) (indoor air will be cooled through the surface of heat exchanger to achieve the purpose of reducing indoor temperature), and the low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas will be sucked by compressor, and so on.
