At the same time, residents' daily garbage will be put in regularly to facilitate centralized collection and treatment.

"42" garbage classification mode

According to the current specific situation in Taiyuan, Taiyuan Urban Management Bureau has formulated a "42" garbage classification model that conforms to the current situation. "4" refers to recyclables, kitchen waste, harmful waste and other wastes, and "2" refers to bulky wastes and decoration wastes.

Recyclable refers to the solid waste suitable for recycling, mainly including scrap metal, waste plastics, waste glass, waste paper pieces, waste fabrics and so on.

Kitchen waste refers to organic solid waste which is easy to rot and deteriorate under ordinary storage conditions. Among them, Class I kitchen waste mainly includes waste oil. The second kind of kitchen mainly includes raw meat residue, leftovers, bones and so on. Class III kitchen waste mainly includes vegetable leaf residue, melon and fruit residue, etc. At present, the classification of domestic waste in Taiyuan is mainly based on the first and second categories of kitchen waste, and the three categories of kitchen waste are not required to be separated.

Hazardous waste refers to solid waste that causes direct or potential harm to human health and natural environment, mainly including batteries, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, mercury thermometers, paint buckets, some household appliances, expired drugs, expired cosmetics, etc.

Other garbage refers to domestic garbage other than the first three items, mainly including ceramics, waste residue, toilet waste paper, paper towels and other wastes that are difficult to recycle, shells, dust, food bags (boxes) and so on.
