History of Shenzhen Union Square

In the early 1990s, Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Planning and Land Resources set aside a "treasure land" at Huanggang Port in Futian, downtown Shenzhen, which was free of land price. The funds were raised by the Municipal Economic Cooperation and Development Corporation to build houses in relevant provinces and cities. The original investor of the building is Shenzhen Economic Cooperation and Development Corporation.

Due to objective reasons, with the consent of the municipal government, Hainan Guotai Investment Group Co., Ltd. and other three companies were transferred as a whole, and a press conference was held on March 3 1997 to rename "Xie Jing Building" as "Union Square".
