"Tianlong Babu" was originally a Buddhist term and was later used as the title of the book by Jin Yong, a famous contemporary writer. The martial arts novel Tian Ba Long Bu began to be serialized in Ming Pao and was completed on 1966. It is one of Jin Yong's most famous martial arts novels.

"Eight Dragons", also known as "Eight Dragons" and "Eight People", are terms derived from Buddhist scriptures. When many Mahayana Buddhist scriptures describe the Buddha's views on bodhisattvas and monks, eight dragons often participate in listening to the dharma. For example, "Hokkekyo: The Taste of the Buddha": "Eight dragons, inhuman people, all saw the dragon girl become a Buddha from a distance".

"Non-human" actually looks like a person, but it is not a person. Dragon and Eight Branches are all "non-human", including eight kinds of Shinto monsters.
