Generally speaking, the employment direction of engineering management major is relatively wide, and the biggest feature is to pay attention to breadth rather than depth. In the professional basic course stage, the basic courses of business administration, such as management, transportation, economy and accounting, will be taught, while the basic courses of civil engineering, such as engineering drawing, engineering mechanics, soil mechanics and structural mechanics, will also be involved, but the learning depth is not very in place.

In the teaching of specialized courses, the emphasis is on technical economics, project management, and specialized courses set according to the subdivided professional direction. Taking Chongqing Jiaotong University as an example, project management is subdivided into two directions: direction A is the project management of road and bridge engineering, which is the dominant discipline of the school, focusing on learning the knowledge of road and bridge structure and construction, and graduating with an engineering degree. Direction B is about 6 years of project cost management, which is roughly the same as direction A, but it adds some knowledge of project investment and financing, and is awarded a management degree after graduation.

So, let's talk about the employment situation in this small environment of our school at that time. Compared with civil engineering, it is easier for girls to find jobs. As a university of science and engineering, in addition to continuing their studies, most undergraduates of this major enter the construction unit, regardless of sex, and a few go to consult companies and real estate (the proportion in direction B is greater than that in direction A), but even if they enter the construction unit, most of them are in budget contract positions, and the working environment is relatively better. Of course, you can do it. Cost is a direction that can be considered. Career development is inseparable from engineering projects, which is relatively mainstream.
