Among all kinds of viral hepatitis, hepatitis C is one of the common liver diseases in China, and it is also one of the main causes of liver cirrhosis and liver cancer in China. According to the estimation of the World Health Organization, more than 654.38+85 million people worldwide are infected with hepatitis C virus, and about 654.38+0/3 of chronic hepatitis C patients develop cirrhosis and liver cancer, and the number of deaths due to hepatitis C-related complications is as high as 350,000 every year. The World Health Organization (WHO) clearly stated in the Guidelines for Screening, Nursing and Treatment of Hepatitis C Infected Persons that all countries should strengthen the screening and identification of hepatitis C, screen high-risk groups in time, and receive regular treatment once diagnosed.

Professor Shang Jia from the Department of Infectious Diseases of Henan Provincial People's Hospital introduced that hepatitis C needs early screening and early treatment, and standardized and recommended the treatment plan for hepatitis C. The situation of hepatitis C in China is also not optimistic. It is estimated that there are100000 hepatitis C patients. But at present, the screening rate and treatment rate are low, and the rate of seeing a doctor is less than 2%. Only about 40,000 people receive antiviral treatment. Hepatitis C virus is good at "camouflage" and damages the liver for a long time.

The incubation period of acute hepatitis C is 2 ~ 16 weeks, with an average of 7 weeks. "However, most patients with hepatitis C have no obvious symptoms in the acute phase of infection, and patients may have mild symptoms such as fatigue, nausea and bloating. This is because hepatitis C virus can disguise its protein shell, making it difficult to be recognized and rejected by the human immune system, thus hiding in the human body and constantly damaging the liver, making 50% ~ 80% of hepatitis C virus infected people progress to chronic hepatitis C.

Professor Shang Jia from the Department of Infectious Diseases of Henan Provincial People's Hospital said that most patients have no symptoms after being infected with hepatitis C, which is why they are called "silent killers". Among the patients infected with hepatitis C, 30% have normal liver function in physical examination and usually have no symptoms. Some patients only have high transaminase, but they are mistaken for fatigue, drinking and other reasons, which delays the diagnosis and treatment, and some even develop cirrhosis and liver cancer.

People with great harm and high risk should be screened as soon as possible.

The data shows that about 70% of patients in China have not been diagnosed in time, and only 12% of patients have been given standardized treatment opportunities. If not treated early, 70%-90% of hepatitis C patients will gradually develop chronic hepatitis, 10%- 15% patients may develop cirrhosis, decompensated cirrhosis and liver failure about 20 years after infection, and even 1%-5% patients will develop liver cancer.

Because there is no vaccine to prevent hepatitis C at present, people at high risk of hepatitis C virus infection should go to the hospital for screening in time. The Screening and Management of Hepatitis C issued by the National Health and Family Planning Commission provides standardized guidance for the screening and management of hepatitis C, and clearly stipulates the screening population, screening time and process. Hepatitis C can be cured, so it's time to standardize the treatment.

The vast majority of patients lack understanding of hepatitis C, and it is not clear that hepatitis C can be cured. After the diagnosis, they all showed a series of negative emotions such as nervousness, anxiety and even loss of confidence in treatment.
