Brief introduction of Li Shimin of Emperor Taizong

Li Shimin (65438+598- 10, July 649) was the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty. From Longxi to Ji Cheng, he reigned from 626 to 649. My father is Li Yuan and my mother is Empress Tai Lao Dou.

Dou Taihou has four sons and one daughter, in descending order: Li, Princess Pingyang, Li Xuanba and Li Yuanji. Toho Hu Ye called Emperor Taizong "Tiankhan".

Li Shimin joined the army as a teenager and saved Yang Di in Yanmenguan. After the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin was named Qin Gong, and later Jin was named King of Qin. He was an outstanding strategist in the late Sui Dynasty, who led his troops to pacify heroes such as Xue Renguo, Liu Wuzhou, Dou Jiande and Wang. He made great contributions in the process of establishing and unifying the Tang Dynasty and finally unifying the world.

In the ninth year of Wude (626), he launched the Xuanwumen Rebellion, killing his eldest brother, Prince Li, and his fourth brother, King Li Yuanji of Qi, and their sons. They were made princes, and Tang Gaozu Li Yuan was soon forced to abdicate. Li Shimin ascended the throne, and there was only one title during his reign.

He was modest and eager to learn, and practiced economy at home, so that the people could recuperate. Finally, it made the society prosperous and peaceful, created the famous rule of Zhenguan in the history of China, and laid an important foundation for the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty from 65438 to 030.

Li Shimin loves literature and calligraphy, and his original works only exist in Jinci. On July 10, 649 (May 23rd, Zhenguan), Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong, died of illness in Dafeng Temple at the age of 52, and he reigned for 23 years. Posthumous title, Emperor Wen, was buried in Zhaoling.
