Li Shimin (65438+598- 10, July 649) was the second emperor of the Tang Dynasty. From Longxi to Ji Cheng, he reigned from 626 to 649. My father is Li Yuan and my mother is Empress Tai Lao Dou.

Li Shimin joined the army as a teenager and saved Yang Di in Yanmenguan. After the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, Li Shimin was named Qin Gong, and later Jin was named King of Qin. In the ninth year of Wude (626), he launched the Xuanwumen Rebellion, killing his eldest brother, Prince Li, and his fourth brother, King Li Yuanji of Qi, and their sons. They were made princes, and Tang Gaozu Li Yuan was soon forced to abdicate. Li Shimin ascended the throne, and there was only one title during his reign.
