How does Wuhan Hongfeng Fisheries Research Institute breed white jade snails?
Oncomelania breeding facilities should be considered in the breeding environment of heat preservation, moisture preservation, ventilation and insect prevention. Its characteristics are: it is necessary to make full use of both the ground and the space, and at the same time, it is easy to manage.
Brick pond culture method: build a pond about 25 cm high with bricks, cement and lime, which is generally 1 m long and 0.5 m wide. The bottom is paved with culture soil, and the top is paved with cement board, with a thickness of 5 cm, a length of 1 m and a width of 0.5 m. A movable cover can be installed beside the pond. The movable cover can be nailed to the wooden frame with plastic film, screen window and woven bag for ventilation and moisture retention. This pool can be built by overlapping, generally 6-8 floors are appropriate. This method can raise 20,000-30,000 white jade snails in a room with a breeding area of 12 square meters, and the annual output can reach 1- 1.5 tons of fresh snails. This method has the advantages of low investment, high space utilization and convenient operation, and is the most widely used feeding method at present.
The dimensions of the feeding container can refer to the specifications of length, width and height 100×50×25CM respectively, and the bottom is covered with 3-5CM of feeding soil, which can be mixed with garden soil, pure sand and furnace ash in the ratio of1:1,and then sterilized at high temperature.
Proper temperature, humidity and adequate feed are the three major factors to ensure and promote the normal growth of Oncomelania hupensis.
2. Proper adjustment of humidity
Humidity directly affects the growth and development of snails. Snails grow normally when soil surface humidity and air humidity are moderate. There are two aspects of humidity that need to be controlled to ensure snail growth: soil humidity should reach 30-40% and air humidity should reach 80-90%. When snails lose 30% water, they will stop moving or even die. Generally, when the soil humidity is too high, dry soil can be added or the feeding soil can be replaced, and when the humidity is too low, water can be sprayed into the feeding pond. When the air humidity is too high, you can increase the air volume and strengthen ventilation. When the air humidity is too low, water can be sprayed on the ground and walls of the feeding room, and the humidity can be increased by steam in winter. Soil moisture should be controlled between 30-40% and not more than 50%, because snails live in too humid or moldy soil for a long time, which is easy to cause conditional diseases.
3. Relative coordination of temperature and humidity
When the temperature is high, the humidity of the snail breeding environment will increase relatively, and when the temperature is low, the humidity will decrease accordingly. Otherwise, the snail will appear abnormal phenomenon.
4. Feeding density
The stocking density of snails can be adjusted in time according to the temperature, individual size and growth, and the principle of separate feeding of large and small snails should be adhered to. The stocking density of young cattle can be higher, and that of breeding cattle can be lower. When the temperature is low, the stocking density can be high, and when the temperature is high, the stocking density can be low. The general standards of stocking density are: 2000-3000 young cattle /m2, 600-800 growing cattle /m2 and 350-400 breeding cattle /m2.
5. Maintain a clean and hygienic environment
In the process of feeding, the feces, leftovers and pollutants of snails should be removed in time. If it is not removed in time, it will rot and stink. When the temperature exceeds 26℃, mites and pathogenic bacteria will multiply, and snails will be infected with diseases. Therefore, these feces, leftovers and pollutants should be removed in time every morning.
6. Reasonable feeding of feed
The quantity and quality of feed directly affect the growth rate of snails. According to the different growth stages of snails, feed the corresponding compound feed to meet the growth needs of snails of all ages, so as to achieve better feeding effect. Feed should be sufficient, with 6-8% of body weight as the degree, and varieties should be diversified. It is enough to feed 1-2 kinds of turquoise feed every day. It must be fresh, clean and pollution-free, and rotten feed must never be fed. Before feeding the feed, water should be sprayed into the feeding pond to encourage snails to eat.
7. Clean up snail leftovers and feces every morning, and spray water once at night. Collect eggs in time for hatching, strengthen ventilation and keep the air fresh.
Six, snail farming
1, the main criteria for breeding cattle selection:
(1), be strong and obese; 2, more mucus; 3. Be morbid; (4) the shell is bright and clean, with clear stripes; (5) Feeding for more than 4 months.
After selecting seedlings, spraying water to promote their activity, and those with strong activity can be selected. Practice has proved that the selected seedlings are beneficial to both cultivation and reproduction. Breeding of breeding cattle should start from young cattle, and select varieties with neat growth speed, smooth shell, clear stripes and white meat color, and brush off those that are unqualified, especially those with dark yellow or gray-black meat color. The growing cattle can be bred step by step after two screenings until mating, and then three screenings.
2. During the breeding process, after 4-4.5 months of feeding, a white protrusion will appear behind the right antenna of the snail's head, the reproductive hole will be exposed, the neck will become bigger, the snail will be excited and active, and start estrus, courtship and mating. The mating time is 2-4 hours. Oviposition occurs on 10- 15 days after mating. Snails are white and white, and the size of mung beans should be avoided.
3. Incubation In order to improve the survival rate, breeding cattle can be taken out with a small spoon after spawning and put into a plastic basin for incubation. Spread a layer of 3-5 cm incubation soil (vegetable garden soil and sand 2: 1) on the bottom of the plastic basin, then evenly place the eggs on the soil surface, and then cover with a layer of wet gauze or 1CM incubation soil. According to its humidity, spray a small amount of water flexibly every day to keep gauze and soil moist. After 8- 12 days, the heifer will hatch. Young cattle are only fed with fresh leaves within 10 days after breaking the shell, and some concentrate can be added in due course after 10 days.
