This gap in regional layout just provides an opportunity for Hefei to rise, and Hefei has the space and potential to grow into a regional megacity. Hefei's growth into a regional mega-city is the necessity of regional economic development, the need of Anhui's economic development, and the inevitable result of the Yangtze River Delta's industrial transfer to the central and western regions and the strategy of the rise of central China.
