What should I do if flying insects get into my ears?

When mosquitoes enter the ear, winged insects keep flapping, and when they approach the eardrum, they make a particularly loud noise. Some mosquitoes have sharp claws and feel pain when crawling in the ear canal. In addition, due to nerve reaction, there will be foreign body sensation and throat cough. Some people even worry about how mosquitoes get into the brain. All these will cause tension, anxiety and fear. In fact, don't worry, there is a strong barrier between the ear and the brain. First, stay calm.

Don't use an ear pick.

Mosquitoes entered the unfamiliar external auditory canal, but they were a little nervous, so they ran amok. So don't try to stimulate it with an ear pick, it will make them more active, and it may also stimulate insects to climb deeper, thus aggravating ear damage and making it difficult to take it out.

Correct approach

Put the insect's ear up, drop 3-5 drops of oily liquid such as glycerin, olive oil, sesame oil and salad oil to make it stick, and submerge it for 2-3 minutes. When the bug doesn't flutter, that is, there is no noise in the ear, you can tilt your head to the child's side and the bug will come out with the oil droplets. When the above first aid measures are still ineffective, be sure to put the patient's ear down and go to the hospital immediately.

Matters needing attention

1. Try not to let water into your ears for the next three days. When taking a bath or washing your hair, you can put a cotton ball at the mouth of the external auditory canal to prevent water from entering. Because insect itching can cause harm, it is easy to cause infection after contact with pollutants.

2. If the ear still hurts after the worm is taken out, it is mostly caused by mosquito scratch and may be accompanied by infection. Oral antibiotics can be taken to prevent and control inflammation. If the earache continues to improve, you should go to the hospital in time to check whether there is tympanic membrane perforation or even otitis media.

3. Preventive measures should be taken in time in summer to kill cockroaches and reduce camping in the wild. If you sleep outdoors, you can put a cotton ball at the mouth of the external auditory canal before going to bed to prevent mosquitoes from entering the ear and causing harm.
