Employment prospect of botany specialty

The major of plant protection is employment-oriented, with the aim of serving "agriculture, countryside and farmers", taking the road of combining work with study, and actively and flexibly adapting to social needs. In the second and third academic years, students are arranged to go to pesticide production, marketing, crop production and other units for production practice and on-the-job practice respectively. Students enter the society ahead of time, which greatly improves their working ability and employability. Graduates are well received by employers, with higher salaries and good employment prospects. During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period, China implemented green plant protection and public plant protection plans, and comprehensively built a new plant protection system. There are two main employment channels: postgraduate entrance examination and employment. The employment of graduates is mainly for plant protection and phytosanitary departments at all levels, agricultural technology extension stations, customs, pesticides and food processing enterprises. Every year, about 65% students are admitted to China Agricultural University, Huazhong Agricultural University, China Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other universities and research institutes to pursue master's degrees. The initial employment rate of other students is over 90%, and the final employment rate is 100%.
