Wuchuan folk art is rich and colorful. Wuchuan people have a long-standing habit of loving folk art. As early as the Jin Dynasty, Wuchuan people had the custom of playing "Wei Zi" and "dancing six generals" to ward off evil spirits and pray for blessings. In the Tang and Song Dynasties, there were performances such as "Fan Shi", "Clay Fighter", "Playing the Pottery Drum" and "Dancing the Two Empires", and in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, there were also "Lion Dance" and "Dragon Dance". Today, there are more "Song of Two People Turning to Mountains and Waters", "Playing Wooden Fish", "Private Bureau of Quyi", "Electric Colored Sculpture", "Dancing on the Ocean" and "Flower Pagoda", which have condensed the painstaking efforts of countless artists throughout the ages and experienced the baptism of the times. Among them, the "three wonders" of traditional folk art-floating color, clay sculpture and flower bridge, are famous for their exquisiteness, ingenuity and strangeness. 1996, Meilan was named "the hometown of ethnic and folk arts in Guangdong Province" by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture. In 2000, the Ministry of Culture named Meilan as the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Art (Gone with the Wind and Clay Sculpture)", and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture named Huang Po Town as the "Hometown of Guangdong Folk Art (Gone with the Wind)". Wuchuan is famous for its floating colors, and CCTV broadcasted the feature film Guangdong Three Musts (Floating Colors, Clay Sculpture and Flower Bridge) three times at home and abroad. In order to make full use of Wuchuan clay sculpture, a rich traditional cultural resource, the municipal government built Wuchuan Folk Sculpture Park on February 6, 2006. Pan He, a famous Chinese sculpture artist and deputy director of the National Sculpture Art Committee, wrote an inscription for the sculpture garden: "Wuchuan Folk Sculpture Garden". Ai, member of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former vice minister of the Ministry of Culture, personally cut the ribbon at the sculpture garden, praised the construction of the folk sculpture garden in our city as an important measure to promote folk art, and wrote an inscription for the sculpture garden "Born at the right time".

The third highlight of culture-the art of Cantonese Opera in Wuchuan South School

Wuchuan's southern Cantonese opera art is related to Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe. Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe, formerly known as Wuchuan Guangyi Cantonese Opera Troupe, was founded in 1953. 1967 to 1978 During the Cultural Revolution, it was renamed as "Wuchuan Mao Zedong Thought Propaganda Team", and it was only rehearsing revolutionary modern model operas such as Shajiabang. After the reform and opening up, a hundred schools of thought contended, and the traditional costume Cantonese opera was restored. 1979, "Wuchuan Mao Zedong Thought Propaganda Team" was renamed as "Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe". Under the leadership of Lin Guoguang, the artistic successor of the "Southern School" of Cantonese Opera, the troupe inherited the tradition, learned from others, and innovated and created an artistic performance style that was rough and bold, simple and vigorous, gentle and feminine. Singing, doing, reading and playing Wushu are unique, so they are traditional. Tian Han, a famous dramatist in China and chairman of the Chinese Dramatists Association, watched the performance of "Soubao Mirror" by the troupe and was amazed at its wonderful performance. Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture attaches great importance to Wuchuan Troupe's long-standing "Southern School Art" performance. In 2003, with the approval of Yue [2003] No.43, Wuchuan Troupe was formally established as "Southern School Art".

In 2002 and 2007, Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe was invited to perform in Hong Kong and Macau respectively. On July 16, 2006, the Ministry of Culture of China entrusted the Central Academy of Drama, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and CCTV to come to our city to shoot wonderful ostentation videos such as Killing Wife, Showing Loyalty and Chaos House performed by Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe, and declared Cantonese Opera as a world intangible cultural heritage in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao on behalf of Cantonese opera art. Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe has won wide acclaim from Singapore's art world. The Organizing Committee of Singapore International Arts Festival awarded Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe the plaque of "Southern Guangdong Opera, Shining Lion City", and foreign media reported the artistic performance of Wuchuan Cantonese Opera Troupe in detail. The Southern School of Cantonese Opera has become a resounding brand of Wuchuan, enjoying a good reputation at home and abroad.

Wuchuan people have always had the custom of making "annual rules". Especially since the reform and opening up, with the improvement of people's living standards, the "annual regulations" in various places have intensified, such as inviting famous halls, holding ball games, setting off fireworks, holding calligraphy and painting exhibitions, poetry and painting exhibitions, etc. The feast of "Eating Year" is getting richer and richer, and the more people eat Year, the more proud they are. Hundreds of boards are surrounded by colorful flags, etiquette, palace lanterns, eight treasures, umbrellas, flower orchids, fish lanterns, eight-tone teams, ten-fan teams and martial arts teams, interspersed with lion awakening, dragon fighting, pottery encouragement, Erzhen dance, six-general dance, ten-fan dance, dragon and mother dance, car color, ground color and so on. Watch parades and performances during the day, and enjoy flower bridges, clay sculptures and watercolor sculptures at night. No matter day or night, tourists are flooding in. The number of visitors at home and abroad reached 800 thousand.
