Henan Communications Vocational and Technical College is a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Henan provincial government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is a national high-quality vocational college project construction school, a brand demonstration college of vocational education in Henan Province, and the first pilot college in Henan Province to train non-commissioned officers.

The predecessor of the college is the training class for cadres of Henan Provincial Bureau, which was founded in 1953. After the stages of Henan Traffic Cadre School, Zhengzhou Traffic College and Henan Traffic School, it was independently upgraded to Henan Traffic Vocational and Technical College with the approval of Henan Provincial People's Government in 2004.
