The Institute of Geographic Information and Tourism (hereinafter referred to as Di Xin College) was formerly the Department of Geography of Chuzhou Normal University, which was founded in 1987. Over the years, the college has adhered to the concept of "opening schools and paying attention to practice", actively explored the cultivation of applied talents with GIS as the leading discipline, and successfully realized the transformation from normal college to applied undergraduate. At present, there are six majors: geographic information science, surveying and mapping engineering, geographic science, tourism management, hotel management and civil engineering. Among them, geographic information science (formerly geographic information system) was approved as a national specialty construction site in 2009, and was listed as a national comprehensive reform pilot specialty in 20 13. Surveying and mapping engineering specialty was listed as the provincial excellent engineer program in 20 13, and was listed as the provincial comprehensive reform pilot specialty in 20 14.

The college has been actively carrying out various forms of teaching reform and teaching research. Since 2008, more than one teaching quality and teaching reform project 100 has been approved, including two national projects, four provincial projects 14 and 89 school-level projects, and won two second prizes and three third prizes 1 at the provincial level.
