Only Mi Ondong and another elephant survived, but Mi Ondong has been in poor health ever since. 1986 Fuzhou Zoo bought Miona from Myanmar, hoping that the elephants would become "model couples". Elephants usually live to be about 80 years old. Mi Ondong and Mi Onna, who are now in their twenties, are in their prime.

At present, they are placed in the beast area of Fuzhou New Zoo.
