Is it convenient to charge your electric car? Weimar's passenger platform charges are difficult to crack.
Freeman Shen's doubts are also the voice of many new energy owners, especially the owners of old residential areas.
Guided by the trend of electrification, more and more car owners began to drive new energy vehicles. According to the data of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles during this year 1- 1 1 increased by 1.7 times year-on-year. Under the overall pressure of the automobile market brought by the COVID-19 epidemic, the new energy automobile industry is still thriving.
However, it is easy to sell a car, easy to buy a car, and not necessarily easy to use a car. As new energy vehicles enter thousands of households, charging is difficult to become a major problem for users. It is quite common that you can buy a car but can't install a pile.
Earlier, according to CCTV news reports, data from the national regulatory platform for new energy vehicles showed that as of June this year 1 1, there were still more than 40% owners of new energy vehicles in China who had not installed personal charging piles in residential areas, and needed to charge them at public charging piles 3 kilometers away.
How inconvenient is it for private cars to go out and find public piles to charge? On the surface, driven by policies and industries, the China market has formed a huge scale of charging infrastructure in recent years. According to the data of China Charging Alliance, as of June this year, 1 1, the member units in the alliance reported a total of10.92 million public charging piles, an increase of 57. 1% year-on-year. In the past year, China added about 33,000 public charging piles every month.
According to the above scale, even if there are no household piles, it seems that there is no need to worry about charging. However, behind the fullness of the ideal is a sense of reality.
Up to now, the ratio of new energy vehicles to piles in China is about 3.05: 1, which is far below the target of 1: 1 planned in the Guide for the Development of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (20 15-2020). At the same time, due to the uneven distribution of new energy vehicles, the charging market faces the contradiction between charging queuing and low utilization rate of charging piles; The overall utilization rate of charging piles is low, and the industry average utilization rate is only about 3%-5%. Even in first-and second-tier cities with high penetration rate of new energy vehicles, the situation is still not optimistic. The data shows that the average utilization rate of public charging piles in 22 of the 25 big cities in China is less than 10%.
Insiders pointed out that although large-scale construction has been achieved, there is a current situation of heavy construction and light operation of public charging piles in China, and problems such as charging queues, "zombie piles" and fuel vehicle occupation have seriously affected the charging experience of new energy owners. It can be seen that to solve the anxiety of new energy owners, it is far from enough to rely solely on public charging facilities, and the rigid demand for private charging piles in residential areas still needs to be met.
According to statistics, the average number of trips per month for car owners with private piles is 60; The average number of trips per month for car owners without private charging piles is only 36. Some car owners report that it takes a long time to charge outside, especially when the temperature gradually decreases in winter, which makes the car experience of new energy owners worse and worse.
However, the objective reality is that due to the vast geographical area and market scale, China's charging infrastructure still lags behind the development of new energy vehicles, while private charging piles lag behind public charging facilities. Judging from the market performance of developed countries, the number of private charging piles in the United States, Japan and Europe is obviously larger than that of public charging piles. In China, the ratio is close to 1: 1.
Charging pile is an important support and guarantee for the development of new energy vehicles. Developing the charging pile industry is also the embodiment of implementing the national "double carbon strategy". At present, China automobile industry has formed an advantage in the new energy track. Energy-supplementing ecology is not only the bottleneck of the last mile development of new energy vehicles, but also a new engine to drive sales growth. Perfecting charging to supplement energy is conducive to stimulating new energy and maintaining industrial advantages. On the contrary, if the problem of difficult charging is not effectively solved, it will become a further obstacle to the promotion of new energy vehicles. The goal of "double carbon" on the travel side is even more impossible. Wang Yao, Assistant Secretary-General of China Automobile Industry Association, believes that the current configuration of charging piles still needs to distinguish between scenes, forming a charging ecology with residential charging as the mainstay, public charging as the supplement, and electricity exchange as the supplement.
However, due to various factors, the difficulty of charging in residential areas has not been solved for a long time.
Recently, Observer.com released a public opinion survey on "It is difficult to charge new energy vehicles in residential areas". The results show that "insufficient power grid capacity in residential areas", "insufficient fixed parking spaces in residential areas" and "property disagreement" are the biggest problems affecting the charging of new energy vehicles in residential areas, which are quite common in old residential areas.
In fact, regardless of the installation of public charging piles or private charging piles, in addition to the owners themselves, there are also car companies and charging service operators with the highest enthusiasm. In order to promote new energy vehicles and increase sales, major new energy vehicle companies are offering discounts or even installing private charging piles for free.
However, the key to determine whether private piles can land lies in the application access links of government departments, power grids, property and other aspects.
The current situation is that most of the residential areas built more than 10 are planned earlier, without considering the large-scale development of new energy vehicles in the future and the charging piles caused by it. Take Beijing, which has the largest number of new energy vehicles in China, as an example. Of the 0/0.2 million residential quarters in Beijing/Kloc-2,700 are old, with less than 0.5 parking spaces per household, and most of them are non-fixed parking spaces. As many as 40% parking spaces do not have the installation conditions of charging piles.
Even if the community has the installation conditions, it is illegal for individuals to pull wires and cables privately. Generally, owners with charging needs need to communicate with property companies and developers, and the property companies and developers coordinate with relevant departments to install them uniformly.
However, the power supply capacity of old residential areas is generally insufficient, and the expansion and transformation of power grid companies are not synchronized with the actual demand of charging piles. In terms of actual cost, property and developers are often unprofitable, which leads to their low enthusiasm for promoting the installation of charging piles. In addition, including property owners' concerns about the safety hazards of charging piles, it is even more difficult for owners in need to apply.
The good news is that in order to solve this pain point, all parties concerned are stepping up their actions to effectively alleviate the anxiety from new energy owners.
As a national strategy, the development and improvement of new energy vehicles and related industries can not be separated from policy planning and guidance, as can the charging infrastructure.
As early as 20 12, the development plan of energy-saving and new energy automobile industry (20 12-2020) issued by the State Council put forward the construction plan of charging piles for the first time. In recent years, the central document has also planned the development of charging piles, including the "14th Five-Year Plan" for new infrastructure construction, the action plan for peak carbon dioxide emission before 2030, the Development Plan for Energy Saving and New Energy Vehicle Industry (20 12-2020), and the Notice on Accelerating the Construction of Charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles in Residential Areas.
Not long ago, in 65438+February and 65438+April, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology continued to propose accelerating the popularization and application of new energy vehicles, speeding up the construction of supporting facilities such as charging piles and power stations, and further promoting the construction of charging infrastructure.
At the local policy level, at present, more than 20 provinces and cities have put forward the industrial layout of charging piles in the 14 th Five-Year Plan. In addition, some provinces and cities have also put forward the construction goal of charging piles for electric vehicles during the 14 th Five-Year Plan period. For example, Beijing proposes to build no less than 50,000 new electric vehicle charging piles by 2022, and Guangdong has 1.8 million; By 2025, Shanghai plans to build 200,000 new charging piles, and Hunan plans to have more than 400,000 charging facilities by then.
Specific to various places, many provinces and cities have introduced solutions that meet local actual needs according to local conditions: for example, Sichuan Electric Power adopts "unified construction and unified operation". After the community owners reach a consensus, the power company will build and operate the community charging network in a unified way, and realize orderly charging through the charging piles with adjustable power to improve efficiency; In Xiamen, Fujian Province, the whole process of pile construction was opened in the form of "Unicom office", and the power department handled the application submitted by the owner, coordinated the work of all parties, helped the residents to land the charging pile, and reduced the heavy resistance of the owner in the process of applying for pile installation.
Not long ago, the Beijing Urban Management Committee publicly solicited opinions on strengthening the construction and management of electric vehicle charging facilities in residential areas. The "Opinions" clarified the requirements for the proportion of charging facilities in new residential projects, and the old residential areas were equipped with parking spaces and charging piles; In addition, the procedures of charging condition confirmation, telegraph installation and facility construction are further simplified, and the installation time limit of self-use charging piles is reduced to no more than 10 working days, which shortens the processing time limit.
Of course, in order to satisfy the majority of car owners with the recharge experience, it is still inseparable from the support of all parties in the industrial chain and social forces such as driving companies and charging facility service operators. At this point of common interest, industries that seem to be far apart, such as car companies and real estate developers, are constantly reaching an understanding and deepening cooperation.
Take Freeman Shen and Weimar Automobile, which initiated relevant complaints before, as examples. This new car-making force has just received $654.38+$52 million in D2 financing led by real estate giant Agile. According to the strategic cooperation agreement signed by both parties, Weimar and Agile will cooperate deeply in brand, sales and service network, layout of charging facilities, auto finance, supply chain finance and after-sales service in the future.
This cooperation can be described as a strong alliance between the two sides of the industry: as the head enterprise in the new power, Weimar Automobile has delivered a total of 83,624 intelligent pure electric vehicles. This year,1-1,Weimar Automobile sold 39,000 vehicles, and the annual sales volume is expected to exceed 40,000. The models on sale mainly cover 65,438 vehicles. As a real estate leader, Agile's property management service sector covers 3 1 provincial administrative regions and 199 cities, with more than 3,600 service projects and more than 3 million families.
Weimar Automobile has a long-term layout in the field of public relations charging infrastructure while promoting automobile sales. At present, the public charging network suitable for Weimar has covered 3/kloc-0 provinces and 360 cities in China, and provided users with more than 430,000 public charging piles through its own "instant travel" APP.
After this cooperation with Agile, Weimar will further deepen the layout of household charging piles, ensure that its new residential area 100% is equipped with parking spaces or reserved construction and installation conditions, plan the public charging area of the new residential area, and provide various flexible charging methods such as slow charging, fast charging and ultra-fast charging.
It can be seen that once the two parties cooperate to promote the layout of charging facilities, it is expected to bring a more enjoyable charging experience to the huge new energy owners.
From the case of cooperation between Weimar and Agile, it can be seen that in order to completely solve the anxiety of owners and users, relevant policies and measures not only need time to catalyze and constantly improve, but also need the relevant parties in the industry to move in the opposite direction and work together. Because the charging industry has the characteristics of high investment and slow return, from the perspective of the industry, new energy automobile companies with large volume and abundant funds are more likely to become the main force to promote the development of the industry.
Head enterprises in Weimar and other industries will take practical actions to drive the development of related industries, thus forming a demonstration effect, which will undoubtedly accelerate the development of charging layout. In the foreseeable future, through the joint efforts of all parties, new energy owners will eventually have a better experience of driving, maintaining and replenishing energy than fuel vehicles.
