The characteristics of nanzenji
The main buildings in nanzenji have the characteristics of Buddhist temples in the south of China during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The beam frame of the temple building is simplified, and the beams and columns are directly connected by tenons and mortises, without relying on the pavement. The height of the bucket arches on the column accounts for a small proportion of the total elevation, but the number is dense. The eaves are short and the cornices are graceful. The roof is steep and the tiles are rich in details, which is the architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Nanzenji Miaoguang Pagoda has the characteristics of Ming Dynasty architecture. Its tower base is a sumeru carved by blue stone carving, and the waist part is engraved with the pattern of "top flower knot" in Ming Dynasty. At the foot of Xumi Mountain is the popular "Guijiao" in Ming Dynasty, and there is a carved "uninterrupted cloud" under Xumi Mountain. The decorative bluestone base is finely carved, and the four corners of the tower bottom are brick inclined columns. The tower is hollow, and each floor has a brick staircase turntable, platform corridor, guardrail and eaves.
