How to classify the safety level of electrical equipment 1E?

Electrical equipment has only one nuclear safety level, which is called 1E level. Other devices are "out-of-class devices". Class 1E equipment includes equipment required to complete the following functions:

-Automatic shutdown of the reactor

-Containment isolation

-Emergency core cooling

-Heat output of reactors and reactor buildings

-Preventing and limiting radioactive release in accident situations.

1E class equipment is a safety class equipment, which has the highest requirements in power plants. Electrical instruments and control equipment connected with safety-level active equipment belong to 1E-level equipment.

Non-1E equipment can be divided into: safety-related (SR) equipment and non-safety-critical (NS) equipment.
