A mountain fire broke out in Yibin, Sichuan and even Tianshan in the middle of the night. Why are mountain fires frequent in Sichuan and Chongqing?

The high temperatures in Sichuan and Chongqing triggered large-scale wildfires, which burned down trees and threatened the local environment. After the Fuling fire in Chongqing was successfully put out, a fire broke out in Wuxing Town, Xingwen County, Yibin City, Sichuan Province and even near Tianshan Mountain. The scene is still being rescued. Sichuan Meteorological Bureau started the meteorological service of forest fire, ensured the three-level emergency response, and deployed and strengthened the monitoring and early warning service of forest fire disaster areas. Xichang, Muli and other places have produced 24 kinds of special forecast service products and released multi-level fire remote sensing monitoring products.

The Provincial Meteorological Bureau sent personnel to Liangshan fire site with the working group of the Provincial Forest Fire Prevention Command to carry out command and dispatch. Liangshan Meteorological Bureau held a deployment meeting of forest fire prevention meteorological support services to deploy meteorological emergency equipment, professional meteorological services and emergency disposal. Liangshan Prefecture Bureau and relevant county bureaus have launched a three-level emergency response to forest fires, and carried out special meteorological forecast services for forest fire prevention and extinguishing every day, providing meteorological data such as wind direction, wind speed, temperature and humidity near the fire every hour, providing meteorological support for scientific fire extinguishing. Two mountain fires in Fuling District of Chongqing were initially identified as the causes of the burning of wild bee bags by the elderly and the rupture of civil power lines under high temperature and strong wind. The causes of two forest fires in Nanchuan area are high temperature spontaneous combustion of dry branches and leaves and overload of power supply lines in an enterprise.

When the temperature continues to rise, the possibility of forest fire will increase sharply, and the fuel will be closer to the ignition point in summer. Coupled with the reduction of water caused by drought, the fuel will be drier and easier to catch fire. Because of the combination of high temperature and drought, wildfire is almost inevitable. A large number of research results also show that with the continuous rise of global temperature, the number of wildfires around the world is increasing, which is a double blow to human beings and the earth's environment. Most fires are caused by people, accounting for 98%! We are not only talking about intentional arson, but also other reasons, such as burning paper, throwing cigarette butts and burning straw on the mountain.
