Xinjiang Iron and Steel Yamansu Mining Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yamansu Mining Company) is located in Bayi Road, Hami City, Xinjiang. It is a wholly state-owned company established in accordance with the Company Law and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bayi Iron and Steel Company of Baosteel Group. It was established in July 1999 with a registered capital of 3558 1 10,000 yuan. By the end of 2007 1 1, the company had total assets of 90 1 10,000 yuan and net assets of 552 million yuan, including employees 1634, 986 retired employees, 9 senior engineers, 76 engineers and 97 professional technicians, accounting for 9./of the total employees.

The company now has many subsidiaries, branches and factories, such as Yamansu Iron Mine, Hami Pellet Alloy Factory and Sitian Limestone Mine (Hami Cement Factory, Hami Hotel, Workers Farm and Hami Farm have been leased or entrusted to others). Among them, Yamansu Iron Mine started construction on 1958, which is the largest open-pit iron mine in Xinjiang. After more than 40 years of production and mining, it was closed in April 2006, and the newly built Cihai Iron Mine with 800,000 tons/year and Ya Mine with 300,000 tons/year have become its main replacement mines. Yamansu Iron Ore Dressing and Burning Plant (formerly Tianbao Dressing and Burning Co., Ltd. was cancelled in June+February, 2007, and now it is managed by Yamansu Iron Mine) is located in Yamansu Town, Hami City. It was completed and put into operation in 2000 1 month, and the expansion and transformation of mineral processing was completed in April 2006, with an annual processing capacity of1150,000 tons of iron concentrate and pellets. Hami grate-rotary kiln pellet production line was completed and put into operation in April 2005, and now it has reached the production capacity of 600,000 tons/year. The alloy operation area of Hami Pellet Alloy Factory (the former Jin Xin Ferroalloy Factory was cancelled in April 2007, and now it is managed by Hami Pellet Alloy Factory) produces ferroalloy1.4000 tons per year, which is the largest ferroalloy production enterprise in Hami area. Hami Cement Plant 1997 was expanded and rebuilt, with a cement production capacity of 200,000 tons/year. Its products have passed the ISO9002 quality system certification and become the largest cement production enterprise in Hami area. In 2007, it was contracted by Hami Tiansheng Cement Co., Ltd.; Hami Hotel was operated by a private contractor in June 2007. Hami Farm and Staff Farm were entrusted to Bayi Iron and Steel Property Company for management in August 2007.

With the care and support of Baosteel Group Bayi Steel Company and Hami local government, after decades of efforts, Xingang Yamansu Mining Co., Ltd. has developed into a comprehensive enterprise integrating mining, mineral processing, pellet production and ferroalloy smelting in Hami, and has become an important iron raw material and ferroalloy production base in the autonomous region and Bayi Steel Company.
