Shanghai Tang Nong Impression

Old-fashioned houses in Shanghai are crowded together, because the land in Shanghai is too precious, and there are few single-family houses, especially in old-fashioned residential areas. When I first came to Shanghai, I was not used to the life of ordinary people in Shanghai.

At first, I rented a house at No.25 Anqiu Road, Hongkou District, Shanghai. Anqiu Road is a very small road. I heard that it used to be wide enough for cars to pass through. Later, it was gradually occupied by roadside residents to build private houses. The road became a driveway, only enough for pedestrians to walk back and forth, and Anqiu Road naturally disappeared on the map of Shanghai. Anqiu Road was found on the old map of Shanghai, but not on the new map of Shanghai, so Anqiu Road exists in name only. There is also Taojiawan Road nearby, which has the same fate as Anqiu Road. Because the old-fashioned community was demolished by Tao, my second uncle's house was originally on Taojiawan Road.

The residents of Anqiu Road and Taojiawan Road are almost all Huai 'an people in northern Jiangsu. Before liberation, their hometown was flooded with natural and man-made disasters, and they fled to the seaside to survive. Later, after the liberation of Shanghai, they settled down, registered as Shanghai residents and became permanent Shanghainese. This is called surviving, but there are not many real Shanghainese. They are all immigrants from all over the country. It turns out that Shanghai Beach is just a beach. At first, it was just a small fishing village. Fishermen live by fishing in the sea. The Temple of the Sea is a place where fishermen burn incense and pray for peace at sea. Now the Sea Temple at the junction of Tangshan Road and Haimen Road in Hongkou District is still there, and the incense continues!

The residential buildings in Shanghai's old residential areas and slums are in a mess, and large areas are surrounded by roads. Alleys in residential areas extend in all directions, and each alley is narrow enough for two people to walk side by side. Some alleys are like a maze of gossip. I got lost in and out, and I didn't know where the exit was. It is difficult for strangers to find the house number in it. You should be very careful when you live in an alley. Once a fire breaks out, it is difficult for fire engines to get in and out, and it is impossible to put out the fire. When it burns, it will be a large area of many people, and there will be many safety hazards.

The alley of the old-fashioned community in Shanghai's urban village slums is very complicated, and the mentality of ordinary Shanghai citizens is as narrow as this alley. Rich families go out to buy commercial housing and move out, and vacant houses are rented to migrant workers. The residents in the alley are very complicated, coming from all corners of the country, and people of all religious beliefs are afraid of burglary. These alleys are thieves' nests, and prostitution is everywhere. The social order in the alley is chaotic and it is difficult to maintain public order. Living in an alley is horrible. Once, things worth 20 thousand were stolen from my house, all of which were my son's Apple computer, Apple mobile phone and digital camera. All valuable things have been washed and stolen, and it's no use reporting them.

In a word, I'm not impressed by the alleys in Shanghai. In Shanghai, I have to live in alleys to make a living, because most of them are private houses, and the rent is relatively cheap. Besides, I can rent in groups. High-end luxury residential areas are expensive, and group renting is strictly prohibited. Anyone who comes to work and do business in Shanghai and wants to make a living in Shanghai for a long time must experience the alley life in Shanghai.

At present, the inner ring road in the center of Shanghai is engaged in the transformation of old areas, and the old houses in the slums of urban villages are gradually being relocated. Shanghai residents who can't afford to buy a house in the urban area have to be forced to move to the countryside in the suburbs of Waihuanqian. The newly-built living quarters are dozens of elevator buildings and high-rise buildings in summer, and there is no alley mouth anymore. In the near future, all the old residential areas in Shanghai will be demolished, and the alleys will become a historical memory. At the same time, it is difficult for foreigners to make a living in Shanghai and want to rent a house. Take me for example. I rented an elevator in a residential area, and the monthly rent and various expenses of water, electricity, gas and property management add up to seven or eight thousand. My wife and I don't earn enough to pay the rent. Reality is so cruel! Alleys in Shanghai are gradually being eliminated, and the outflow population making a living in Shanghai is gradually decreasing, because there is no place in the urban area of Shanghai. After all, there are very few work units that provide food and shelter, which is a realistic problem that Shanghai migrant workers will face.

What does the disappearance of Shanghai Lane mean? It means that ordinary citizens in Shanghai can't survive in the urban area, which means that migrant workers have no place in Shanghai! Only the social elite and the rich can live in the magic capital of Shanghai. I don't know whether this is social progress or retrogression. Should Shanghai Lane disappear? Should ordinary citizens in Shanghai move to suburbs and rural areas? Migrant workers have made indelible contributions to the construction of Shanghai, paid so much effort and sweat, and in the end they don't even have a place to live! I don't know what Shanghai will be like once all the hutongs in Shanghai disappear. I don't know what Shanghai will be like once all the migrants and migrant workers in Shanghai leave Shanghai. Who will consider this question?

The reality is so cruel. Shanghai Magic is an oriental international metropolis. Everything should be in line with the world. It must keep pace with the times and keep pace with the development of the times. Those unsightly alleys, dirty, chaotic and poor, seriously affect the city appearance and environment, and are incompatible with the Oriental Pearl City. Rebuilding the old areas will benefit the country and the people and benefit future generations! People should have a long-term vision when they are alive. I believe that Shanghai Magic City will bid farewell to alleys and build skyscrapers, which will be better and more attractive!
